The property was just incredible. The setting on the ocean was breathtaking. The kitchen was the most amazing aspect, with all the highest end appliances, cookware and provisions. What a place for cooking Thanksgiving dinner. Last but not least the property manager Bruce was so attentive and helpful. Do not think twice about renting this amazing property.. On a five star scale,, this is Easily 6 stars.
Honestly, I have never enjoyed myself and my family more than I did this week at this magnificent property. The property itself had everything anyone could ask for including a private bathroom for four of the bedrooms! The amenities were top notch from the luxurious towels, the sound system throughout the home, and the wonderful television on the lower level that could be your children’s movie theater. The front lawn was immaculately cared for and provided a perfect location for our grandchildren and children to play and frolic and the front porch was fabulous with afternoon shade! The property is within walking distance to Short Sands Beach (8 min stroll) and the town of York. I have never been happier with a host or caretaker! I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to have a relaxing oceanside vacation.
Everything was as presented in the listing!!!
Our favorite VRBO property yet!! Perfect home inside and out!! Unbelievable view!! Even our 3-year old granddaughter kept saying “I love this house”! We all LOVED it!! Highly recommend!!!
Stunning property with upscale amenities. View and convenience great! Would like to have more room on the back patio for large groups, and window treatments on the bathroom closet for private dressing. House manager very friendly, and Nicole’s meals were wonderful and plentiful. Overall fantastic memories with long time friends in a beautiful, spacious house.

The house looks beautiful in the photos. It’s so much better in person! Spectacular ocean views from the deck and the main living room. We enjoyed the short walk to Perkins Cove and its restaurants and shops as well as the longer walks to town along the Marginal Way trail. The house was clean and well-appointed with all the comforts of home. Highly recommended!
From the moment we walked into this property our expectations were greatly surpassed! Beautiful location and property! Property was very clean and updated! Lots of items like paper towel and toilet paper was provided! Property manager was always accessible and answered any questions we had! We will definitely be back!
Breathtaking views, perfect place to relax! We never wanted to leave the house.
My friends and I absolutely loved this house, full of windows with great views of the ocean. The location was absolutely perfect and we enjoyed rediscovering nearby Perkins Cove. We spent a lot of time either out on the deck or inside looking out through the sliders and windows. The house was equipped with everything we needed. The Property Manager was very responsive, even letting us take a look at the property before our rental date. We hope to be able to rent this house again next year.
This place was incredible. The photos of the views do not do the property justice. The deck overlooking Perkins Cove and the inlet/outlet was spacious and had comfortable chairs – and a great table w/ umbrella. We sat out here for coffee in the am – cocktails in the evening – and never tired of the view. The kitchen and entire house was well appointed – there was nothing we needed. THe sheets and towels were great. The property was immaculate when we arrived, the person we worked with when booking was excellent in terms of providing accurate information and response time. We would rate these accomodations as excellent and hope we will have the opportunity to go back next year!

    Historic Oceanfront Home In Kennebunkport

One of the original grand beach mansions in quaint Kennebunkport, this enormous eight-bedroom 19th-century shingle-style home is simply stunning. Call dibs on the oceanfront room on the top floor so you can soak in the claw foot tub and sip morning coffee or evening cocktails on the private balcony. Otherwise, you can always take in exquisite water views from the wraparound porch, which even has a screened-in section.

Pick fresh blueberries right off the front porch in August. Walk to town or the beach.

Rock Ledge is an incredible house, built in the 1880’s by Ralph Emerson, the architect who originated and popularized the Shingle Style. The house was sensitively renovated. It’s extremely comfortable, with an enormous front porch ideal for looking at the ocean and the many sailboats passing by. The kitchen is well equipped and the dining room (when you aren’t eating on the porch as we mostly did) is large and handsome with good views. The bedrooms are all of good size, several with ensuite bathrooms. The house is set high up on a hill so the views of the ocean are superb. The Cape Arundel neighborhood has many other beautiful homes and is quiet and peaceful. It is close to the charming village of Cape Porpoise. There is good biking in the area and there are several excellent restaurants nearby, including the restaurant at the Cape Arundel Inn, a five minutes from the house.
A very nice home with everything we needed, situated with beautiful views and close proximity to many activities and great dining.
Everything was perfect. Location, accommodations, and the warmth of the owner all contributed to a magical stay for our family of 10 that exceeded our high expectations.
When you think of having a summer vacation in an adorable New England beach town, this enormous stunning classic home (and the town it’s in) are straight out of central casting. The house is one of the original grand beach mansions in Kennebunkport and yet updated just perfectly so it retains all its original charm AND is highly functional. The owners are absolutely great. The location is a nice walk from town and the beach. We’ve been twice and plan to go again and again. <3
We had the most amazing experience renting Rockledge! This property was amazing, it was in the best location— beautiful ocean views from many of the rooms, a nice walk down to town, and only a short drive to neighboring towns:). We rented to celebrate our parents 40th wedding anniversary and the house had space for us all! It was such a special week and are so grateful to have had this special property to stay at. The house was impeccably clean and our host was so receptive to all of our calls and texts— sending us recommendations for things to do, places to go, the best beaches, and the best restaurants! It felt like we had our own personal vacation concierge! I can’t say enough fabulous things about our stay at Rockledge and we hope to be back soon to visit again!

Watch the sun come up over the water as you sip your morning coffee. Walk along the beach for miles during low tide. Other features of this home include a pool table, bar, and elevator. We really enjoyed our stay at this home. Everything was very high end and the views from the living room/kitchen area and balcony were beautiful. Not too far from portland or other areas with restaurants, but the kind of house you don’t really even want to leave!
I stayed here Monday-Friday with a gal pal who also needed a change of scenery and time to de-stress from work. The house was just as pictured – directly on the beach with spectacular sunrises and lots of space to spread out. As the primary renter, I had the front bedroom with private deck and en-suite bathroom. She took the bedroom at the opposite end of the hall, also with en-suite bathroom. We never heard each other. The top floor was SO comfortable with huge sectional sofa and comfy fold-out chairs. Check-in was super easy, just a code to punch into the electronic lock. Jason was just a text message away if we needed anything (we didn’t). It was early April, so most things in OOB were not yet open. Places we discovered and loved – JJ’s (next to the tracks in OOB center), Blast From the Past Too diner (Route 1 in Scarborough), and Terra Cotta Italian Market (also on Route 1 in Scarborough). Nearby fantastic hikes – Cascade Falls (easy!) and Prout’s Neck Cliff Walk (moderate – some scrambling over large rocks and stony beaches). I would absolutely rent this home again, particularly off season for the solitude.
We stayed here the week between Christmas and NYE. The house was lovely. We walked on the beach daily. The beds were some of the most comfortable I have ever slept in at a rental home. Jason was easy to communicate with. I did not know much about the area before booking. The house is amazing but it seems somewhat out of place compared to the surrounding dwellings. It is obviously offseason so most things locally were closed, but Portland was an easy drive and we went to some really good restaurants there.
We traveled up from GA to celebrate my 50th birthday. There were three couples & one solo so, 7 adults total. The house & location was amazing! The room/bed set up was a little different than what was stated online but it accommodated our party still. The kitchen had everything you could think of or need-pots, utensils, plates etc. We enjoyed our time there and hoping to come back soon.
We used the property as a jumping off point to visit Portland and its surrounds. Located on the beachfront, this luxury property would rent for substantially more in the summer months. We elected to rent it for a visit to Portland in the late Fall. Great rental rates, great views of the ocean and only 30 minutes one way into Portland.. Worked perfectly.

We loved the condo- such an excellent unit in a prime location. First class accommodations!
This property is absolutely stunning, and every bit as impressive as the pictures suggest. We found it to be impeccably clean, spacious, and well appointed. The views are just amazing, and we loved being able to walk everywhere. Scott was very responsive and great work with overall. We would highly recommend this property!
This property is the best for everything! My husband and I look forward to our yearly vacation in Portland and staying in this fantastic property is part of the reason. It is perfect and never disappoints. The views from this apartment are magnificent. Already looking forward to next year and we just got back home today!

I truly can not think of a more perfect place to take a large family. We had 6 adults and 6 children–ages ranging from 10-69. Booth Bay is such a special place: it’s safe so the children could walk to town by themselves during the day, lots of activities on the water, our grandchildren even did the “cold plunge” off the dock twice and plenty of choices of places to eat. We enjoyed the whale watching excursion, Cabbage Island Clambake, the Lazy Jack Schooner, miniature golf, shopping, eating and the very best part was sitting on the back porch enjoying the view, the breeze, the scenery and each other. Shane was so attentive to every request and a ton of fun too. I assure you it will be a week you would never forget.

Our family gathering at the Sail Loft was very special for us. The house and property were lovely with carefully tended beautiful gardens,. There were a variety of areas for activity whether it was on the large deck with nice furniture and glorious views of the harbor. There are two large gatherings areas, one on each floor that allowed us to spread out and have multiple activities going on at the same time. The commanding views of the water bring the outside into this house. The owner has installed beautiful art which contributes to the calm and beauty in the house. The baseball diamond behind the house provided a safe and level place to play a variety of games. We could walk to the general store and Port Clyde and Thomaston were close by for other supplies. We easily found nearby beaches for beach fun and nearby lighthouses and parks were easily accessible. There is a rowboat and two kayaks for water fun and strolling the grounds and road was lovely. We certainly hope that we can return to relax, play and share family time at the Sail Loft. A perfect place for a family gathering!
From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave you will be dazzled by the incredible view, manicured gardens, and historic home. We loved every minute of our stay with our friends and family.
My family had a great stay in this home. The location is incredible and we enjoyed watching the lobster boats go out of the harbor each morning and the beautiful sunrises. The house was full of character, extremely clean, and very spacious.
This home has fabulous views and the town of Tenants Harbor is a gem. My husband enjoyed buying lobster daily from the General Store. The kitchen is fully stocked and there is tons of space if you’re gathering with a large family. Internet is very reliable. We had a very good experience with the host, Betsy and the caretaker, Astrid. We really preferred the proximity to Rockport and Camden. Booth Bay was far more touristy. Be sure to grab ice cream and pastries from Village Bakery in Port Clyde. We also bought their frozen pies and cinnamon rolls at the General Store.
We could not have found a more perfect spot for our extended family getaway. The house overlooks the harbor, but it was still quiet enough for folks who wanted to sleep in. The main living rooms (living room, dining room and kitchen) are on the second floor with lots of windows so the views out over the water are spectacular. The house is spacious with enough bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone to be comfortable and accommodated, a huge dining room table provided ample room to gather everyone for meals or playing cards and board games, the kitchen was stocked with every imaginable cooking utensil. Walking distance to the general store when we picked up groceries. And also to the East Wind Inn where we could visit with friends staying there and drop in on the hotel’s scrumptious breakfast. It really was perfect.

Waking up to the mist rising above the smooth water, watching the sun set or gazing up at the stars with a glass of wine on the dock, taking the kids out for a ride on one of the canoes or paddle boards, taking a quick drive into town to eat at one of the many amazing restaurants or just for an ice cream after dinner… this is paradise in Maine. The house was clean, thoughtfully furnished, simply and beautifully decorated and the kitchen outfitted with everything a home cook may need. Although we never met the owners, they were kind enough to send us rainy day suggestions via email when they saw that we were due for some rain. The rain certainly didn’t dampen our perfect week. I only hope that we will be able to come back soon for another week at the Grey Lake House.
This was truly one of the best vacations we have had and was exactly what we were looking for when deciding on vacationing in Maine! My husband & I stayed in the Lower Camp cottage and two of our 20-something children each with a friend stayed at Upper Camp – it couldn’t have worked out better for all of us. Morning coffee watching the lake as the sun came up was a perfectly tranquil way to start the day. By the time the kids woke up it was all about kayaking, paddle boarding or swimming & sunning! The cottages are located on a quiet end of the Lake which was perfect for the water activities. While we loved being at the lake we also took advantage of hiking in Camden Hills State Park, driving up to Acadia for a big hiking adventure as well as road trips down to Rockport & Rockland. We thoroughly enjoyed the restaurants in Camden for several meals but truly loved eating at the cottage on the screened porch! The Megunticook Market only 2 miles away had everything we needed and we didn’t cook once at upper camp – we all loved hanging out together at lower camp! Chris was an amazing host giving us suggestions for our stay as well as making himself available if we needed anything. The only time we needed something though was when the kids accidentally locked themselves out of Upper Camp:) As far as we were concerned there was nothing more those cottages needed except to be available when we go back!!!!!
Our family had the most marvelous time on Lake Megunticook in these charming, well-equipped, beautifully decorated and superbly kept cottages! Lake Megunticook is crystal-clear and easy to explore in a kayak or canoe. Our children and grandchildren loved fishing off the dock, skipping stones and, of course, swimming in the pristine water. We enjoyed our ventures in to the nearby, charming town of Camden and surrounding areas, but found it challenging to tear ourselves away from the lake and comforts of the cottages! Our hosts were the best and made every effort to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. And, they succeeded! We highly recommend this lovely property to anyone who may in search of the perfect vacation location.
We had a wonderful time at these two unique homes! The set-up was perfect for our extended family. Everything was very clean and the houses were well-stocked. The lake was gorgeous and we all enjoyed the kayaks and paddle board. The Sailers were extremely pleasant to deal with and made sure our stay in Camden was comfortable and memorable. Camden is a beautiful town and we enjoyed exploring Rockport and Rockland as well. I would go back in a heartbeat!
We had a spectacular vacation here. The two-house set up worked beautifully for us. Our family of four stayed at the lakeside cabin, which is rustic but sturdy and spotless and really charming. And our friends without children stayed at the upper house, which is more modern, with accompanying modern amenities. We were happy to keep the kids away from television and wireless, but were also happy to have access to it when we wanted, by just crossing the road. The owners have outfitted each house perfectly, so when we wanted to make pizza one night, voila – there was a pizza pan in the cabinet. And unlike most vacation homes we’ve rented, these are stocked with very good quality kitchen and dish ware. We were already familiar with this part of the Maine coast, but had never stayed so close to Camden. There is plenty to do and see if you’re in the mood, but we spent most of our time in the kayaks, jumping off the dock, and throwing a ball into the lake for the dog to swim after. Except, of course, that we went into town almost every night for ice cream. And we had two spectacular dinners out — one at Long Grain (Thai), and the other in Rockport at my new favorite restaurant, Shepherd’s Pie. Oh, and there’s a very sweet and pretty little public beach and park about a mile away, which is great for young kids because the entry to the water is very shallow, and the lake bottom has been cleared. It really is just a lovely, well-equipped, relaxing place to spend a vacation!

We returned this year because we had such a hard time leaving last year. The house is beautiful with a stellar view of Phillips Lake and surrounding hills. The house even has an old school clothes line that attaches to the house and rotates on a wheel so you can hang things without getting off the deck. The beds are very comfy. The collection of books in the house is fantastic, many best sellers and I even found the new (Stephen King “Fairy Tale” in the little library next door. The location is convenient to both Ellsworth and Bangor and 45 min to Bar Harbor. Our favorite places to visit were Mason’s Brewery/pub in Brewer, Airline pub and Fogtown brewery/pizza in Ellsworth, Reny’s in Ellsworth and the L.L.Bean outlets in Ellsworth and Bangor. (the Bangor one is much better stocked.) Acadia Provisions has great Boar’s Head meats in their deli and a variety of natural and organic type food and jerky. We stopped at the Lucerne Inn up the road for a cocktail one eve but their dinner menu looked delicious. but we could not stay.We love this place and Mike and Sue are fantastic hosts. A welcome gift of Main delights wat waiting for us on arrival. We will be returning!
We had a lovely holiday. Accommodations were great. We enjoyed the setting..the home, the lake, kayaking and swimming. Most welcoming owners! We thought about staying..Mary Kathryn Diggs
What a fabulous vacation! It’s hard to imagine a more perfect location for such a beautiful cabin. It features the most spectacular sunsets and cool evening breezes. It’s an absolute perfect blend of rustic charm and modern luxuriousness. Everything from the soft plush towels and fresh crisp linens to the fully stocked kitchen/pantry loaded with pots, pans, plates, cups, utensils, etc. It has all the comforts of home and then some. No need to pack your entire house into the trunk, because most of it is already here waiting for you. Just pack your clothes and any personal items. When you arrive, all you need to do is make a short trip to local market just 7 minutes away from the cabin to stock up the fridge with all of your favorite goodies. Just about as stress free as it gets. This cabin offers several secluded nooks and crannies where your group can spread out and enjoy some quiet time to read a book, watch tv, play a video game, do a puzzle, or just take a nap. The charming dockhouse by the lake is the best example of this. My wife’s personal favorite way to enjoy the sunset. It was such a pleasure to meet our gracious hosts, Mike & Sue. They are both super friendly and Mike is very responsive if you have questions or concerns. We can’t thank them enough for providing us with this wonderful experience. Everything about this trip was truly remarkable and we hope to return in the future.
You could see the lake from almost every room in this house. The property is simultaneously simple and luxurious. It is a tough act to follow as evidenced by the VRBO we are currently in for the next week which is underwhelming in contrast
We had a great stay. The lake is gorgeous and the house was exactly what we needed. If/when we return to Maine, I would like to stay in the same house.

    Oceanview Cedar Chalet

Nestled on a wooded lot overlooking Frenchmen’s Bay, this chalet features ocean views from nearly every room. Watch the lobster boats check their traps in the morning from the large deck, which is also a great place to catch the sunset. Walk down the hill to the boardwalk to access the rocky beach. If you need more space for a group or this place isn’t available during your desired dates, check out the host’s nearby Bar Harbor log cabin.

First time using VRBO. Property was wonderful and the views were spectacular.Jamie our host supported us with all the info we would need at the house and added referrals for restaurants & markets in the area.Loved Cedar Chalet and will use again in the future.
Look no further. This place is awesome. Book it! The perfect private family getaway while remaining close to all major activities. Just a short ride into town.
Beautiful spacious home, view from house and huge deck great, very clean, kitchen well supplied with everything needed to prepare a meal. Close to scenic destinations. We were fortunate to have great weather. Landlord couldn’t have been more helpful!
Had a great experience at the Cedar chalet. Loved the location. We ate at or bought food from Rose Eden’s 5 times which is only a mile or so down the road. Good set up for two couples with separate masters. Jaime checked in on us a few times and their recommendations were all spot on. Highly recommended and we hope to make it back some day.
What a wonderful experience from the moment we arrived to the minute we left. The home is beautiful and clean! Plenty of space for all 7 of us! The views were special as were the seals that we would see every evening. The location is perfectly situated for easy access to downtown bar harbor and Acadia where there is SO much to do for all ages. Thanks again, Jamie!

Stayed in this absolutely great house to celebrate a 50th wedding anniversary. Plenty of space, huge kitchen, spectacular place to spend quality time with a big group. The property has something for everyone loved it!
This house is great! We had a group of 12 for our annual guys trip. This house was more than adequate. The kitchen was equipped with everything you would need for large groups. Including 2 sinks and 2 dishwashers. The kitchen always seems to be the main gathering spot, and this kitchen has plenty of room for all.The entire house is beautiful, and clean.Oh, and the game room! Many late nights were spent in the basement playing Golden Tee!Our stay was great.Thank you, again, to the owners!Scott Scarbro

We all can’t stop talkin about how much we miss being there and how 100 perfect it was. Thank you for letting us experience your beautiful house and we are already talking about doing it all again.
We had a great stay! Had 4 generations together this past week. We celebrated a birthday and had a surprise wedding dinner for my niece and her new husband! This house was perfect for our group and there was lots of space to spread out or be together! Lots of beautiful mountain hikes, water holes and beautiful scenery in the area.
