The Real Love Boat
The scripted 1970s show The Love Boat centered on cruise passengers looking for love and romance in faraway locations onboard a cruise ship. The new reboot version will be similar, but instead of being scripted, it will be in reality show format in the hopes of bringing in a new generation of love-seekers. And just like the original version, the new Love Boat will be onboard a luxury Princess Cruise ship.
The Real Love Boat will focus on singles looking for love onboard a month-long cruise in the Mediterranean. The show will feature romantic dates to help foster connections, plus challenges and temptations to test potential couples’ compatibility. Expect to see fan favorites like the cruise director and captain playing pivotal roles in the singles’ journeys for love. At the show’s end, one final couple will win the grand prize of a luxury cruise plus cash.
Dual Audiences
CBS in the United States is teaming up with an Australian broadcasting company to produce the reality show. Filming will begin in the summer of 2022, with a premiere date slated for late 2022 in both the U.S. and Australia. Princess Cruises is a partner in the new Real Love Boat reality reboot. The iconic ships were the backdrop for the original television show, and the company says it’s excited to be the living set for the show’s latest incarnation.
