Author and freelance writer Joe Cuhaj originally hails from New Jersey, but moved to Alabama 40 years ago and fell in love with the state's natural beauty. So much so that he has written 12 outdoor recreation guides for Alabama that cover hiking, camping, and paddling. Joe has also penned several books on the 320+ year history of Mobile, Alabama and space exploration. Joe's non-fiction history titles include:

In 2006, Joe was named American Hiking Society's Southeastern Volunteer of the Year for his work in building and maintaining hiking trails in the region.
Recently retired, Joe plans to continue his love of traveling while sharing his adventures and exploration of the U.S. and the world with TravelAwaits readers.
