In winter, Ober Gatlinburg amusement park and ski area is perfect for learning how to hit the slopes.

    Videos by TravelAwaits

After a day of shopping downtown, visiting attractions such as Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Odditorium, and sampling area restaurants, you’ll need a cozy place to crash. Gatlinburg cabins feature majestic mountain views, deckside hot tubs, fireplaces, game rooms, and more. Whether you want to stay close to the action or further away from it all, we’ve found some fabulous places to stay with your loved ones in Gatlinburg. Find your home away from home below in descending order of how many guests each rental accommodates.

    Large Luxury Lodge

Surrounded by the Great Smoky Mountains, this hand-constructed Scandinavian log lodge is nestled on 2.8 acres. Spacious and luxurious, this Gatlinburg cabin is perfect for celebrations, including weddings, family vacations, anniversaries, birthday parties, corporate retreats, family reunions, and graduations. With eight king bedrooms, six sleeper sofas, and 10 bathrooms, the 7,000-square-foot space can accommodate up to 26 guests. An elevator makes towing luggage up to your room a breeze.

Highlights include breathtaking views of the Great Smoky Mountains and Mount LeConte, two hot tubs, and a private movie theater — complete with popcorn and candy. The game room features a pool/ping pong table, air hockey, foosball, shuffleboard, and a retro Pac-Man arcade game.

Cozy up by the gas fireplace on the wraparound deck or roast marshmallows over the massive stone fire pit and gaze up at the night sky. Take in incredible sunset mountain views from the benches on the front porch, or watch the sun come up over the mountains from one of the several rocking chairs. Gatlinburg is 15 minutes from here, while Pigeon Forge is a 25-minute drive.

We had a group of 12 buy we could’ve easily fit another few couples. Great size and layout for large groups.
This property is amazing. The rooms are spectacular and the views even more so. The house was clean upon entry and stocked with just about everything you can think of. The hosts are so accommodating and friendly. We will be staying again.
Family vacation with 3 generations attending. Great House. Beautiful surroundings. Great amenities.
The place was very much as advertised online. We had 20 adults there for a college reunion trip. The good: the views were incredible, most rooms were very spacious and had their own private bathroom, many different indoor games to play on a rainy day, amazing kitchen when cooking for a large group, nice fire pit, beds were comfortable, bathrooms were spacious, no hot water shortage, wrap around deck, a ton of kitchen appliances and dishes, multiple fridges, very fun theatre room, high ceilings, log cabin constructionThe not so good: some small issues with cleanliness, unable to connect your own device to the outdoor speakers, doors automatically lock behind you but the door code only worked on the front door keypad for us, Wi-Fi was very slow in most areas of the home (could have been the number of guests), hot tubs had an unpleasant smell after the first time we used them (may just need cleaned/shocked), the theatre room had the option to utilize Amazon video, Netflix, etc. but every time we started a program it crashed and popped up saying that the video source had been lost.Overall we had a great stay, the hosts were very nice and communicated instantly every time I reached out to them. Only a few hiccups.
This was by far the most incredible vacation rental we have EVER had. My wife and I booked the Luxe Bear Lodge to hold our reception for our Gatlinburg wedding. Words can’t describe how wonderful this cabin is!! Our entire family was lost for words at the beauty of this place. We were so blessed to have been able to hold our special night here and have nothing but resounding praise for both the staff and the property!

This is a wonderful house that has two separate living and kitchen areas, four bedrooms, a bunk room, a screened porch, and an additional deck with a hot tub. This is perfect for 2-4 families to share looking to do day hikes, whitewater rafting, or other activities in any of the nearby towns. The property is located at the end of a steep one lane mountain drive and sits just above the top of Ripley’s Mountain Coaster. There are two houses on adjacent properties that weren’t occupied during our stay so it was very peaceful. It is approximately a .75 mile walk to/from downtown Gatlinburg, but about 200 ft higher in elevation. Our group of younger guys made the trek each night for dinner and lots of drinks without too many issues, but the last .25 mile could be problematic for some people due to the steepness or anyone afraid of the dark or bears (no lights and a bear was spotted the first night). We would definitely go back!
Great location and large enough for big families. We had a great time at Monsters on the Mountain!Super close to everything and saw a big bear the 1st night. Cool place that’s very convenient to everything. Would stay there again.
This was my first time in Gatlinburg and I could not have picked a better place to stay! I love that it was close to everything and you can use trolley service to go to many places. The cabin was beautiful and well stocked. The sleeping arrangements are great and the layout works well for large family. I will definitely be back and I recommend to anyone with a large group with multiple age groups.
First thing is that you have to drive on a one way road to get to cabin. It was not really a problem though. The cabin was awesome! Loved the outside porch area with rocking chairs. Kids loved the games and pool table and air hockey and foosball table. Amazed at the personal concierge when you walked in. Not really too far from pigeon forge either! One thing that stood out about our trip, we saw a bear! We were packing up and left back van door open, came to put more items in and the bear was in the back! It heard us and jumped out and ran to side of another house but still in sight. Not a big bear but middle sized. Enough room for 12 of us! Thank you again for letting us enjoy your cabin! This place was everything and more! My family and I enjoyed every bit of it. The host made sure that we had a comfortable stay and that all my questions was answered quick. Definitely will be back and we also seen bears
Beautiful cabin with a great view!! Very clean kids had a blast playing with the arcade. We even saw some bears
Our vacation was amazing from start to finish and we would definitely stay here again. We had 3 families with 7 kids and there was never a shortage of anything to do. Many nights were spent on the balcony while the kids enjoyed the movie room or games. It was a perfect location to downtown Gatlinburg and the owner was responsive to all of my questions. I highly recommend considering this cabin for your next family vacation. We couldn’t have asked for anything better.
This place was perfect. 11 guest and all had privacy, our own bathing space & a great open area to meet for breakfast. Celebrated Father’s Day, Juneteenth, my brother-N-law showed off his skills in the nice kitchen. My teens (2) enjoyed having the downstairs area to themselves. (Parent of the year; nomination) my mom and grand boy enjoyed relaxing nites in the jacuzzi. While the hubby and I enjoyed the view of the “blue” black bear at dusk early evening playing in the woods. A great stay close to all the good eats. Local goat; Chesapeake seafood bar & grill. Plus hot enterentertainment. Pink mountain rentals. The island at margarita ville. Teaster lane (new retail development) shopping. Our only dislike was the silk sheets on all beds. Don’t use Apple Maps, you will be lost.
We enjoyed our stay it was a nice location. My only bit of feedback would be that we could’ve used more towels. There are not very many towels for the amount of people that we had.

Hands-down, one of the best properties our two families have stayed at! Super clean, beautifully decorated, very comfortable and cozy. Classy, rustic elegance, with lots of attention to detail. We lacked absolutely nothing. The outdoor area alone was top-notch. Lots of great seating, beautiful lighting and fire table, and amazing views. Kitchen is nicely equipped with pretty much everything you need. Our teens and pre-teens loved the hot tub and game tables and were thrilled that the air hockey table actually worked!! (You’d be surprised how many places we’ve stayed where this was not working and not guaranteed to be.) We loved everything about our stay at The Rustic Fox and can’t wait to return!
First time renting a chalet in the Smokey Mountains and it turned out to be more than we anticipated. We needed 3 master suites and room for 5 grandchildren aged 2,4,8,11, and 13. This is the perfect place! And best yet was not only did the double deck provide a fabulous view but there were so many games to occupy us on a rainy day inside. Very close to the club house and the 3 pools. We absolutely loved it! And hope to return someday. The perfect getaway!
This property was conveniently located to the national park and Gatlinburg. Was a perfect home for my family!
The home was incredible from every aspect. The views 1st of all were incredible from both floors and every room. The layout offers 3 Owners suites which was such a treat to spoil our kids and their families. The main deck was spacious with quality furnishings including 2 fire pits which we used in the morning and at night. We never ate inside, always outside to enjoy the views at the large table. The kids loved the game room, there was something for everyone! The hot tub on the lower deck and more quality seating on the lower deck was great…the home had a lot of privacy too-which was important to us. BEST of all, we saw Bears. We had a mama & her 4 cubs play in front of us for quite awhile. They visited us a few times ;). The mama & 1 of the cubs pushed their way through our front door (door wasn’t latched correctly-OOPS!) so that raised the adrenaline but something we will never forget (they bowed out quickly when they saw us). Location wise, it’s a quick drive to Gatlinburg or PF, super easy. The house was well stocked and again, everything from the finishes in the home, to the furniture, ,to the beds/bedding & linens were top of the line. This was a real treat!! Communication with the owners was awesome, they are fantastic.
I cannot say enough about our stay at this gorgeous house. The hosts we wonderful and always a text away. We we in close proximity to all the fun things to do in the area yet the home was in place that made you feel far away from it all. The game room was a huge hit for my college aged kids, many late nights were spent getting their names on the high score board. If any of you are concerned about the AC in the main floor master as I saw from a previous post please know that the owners have rectified it with a separate ductless unit. My husband and I stayed in that bedroom and it was beyond adequate. So if you like to have it cold when you are sleeping, as I do you, will be very satisfied. The mama and baby bears showed up daily which was a fun treat. The kitchen was stocked with high end cookware. The only bad thing I have to say about this place is that we had to actually leave it. Great memories were made here and we cannot wait to come back again. Thanks so much for a super vacation.

This house was AMAZING. And so close to downtown. We got a few visits from the bears which was our first time seeing them! House was beautiful and the owners were so nice. We would come back to this property
The friends we stayed with rate best of everything
The property was nice and clean very up to date. It was equipped with everything you need. The location was perfect right near downtown and supermarkets and ABC store. I couldn’t have asked for more beautiful view it was a wonderful vacation.
The house was perfect for us! It is spacious and allowed three couples to each have their own floor/level. The house was clean and beautifully decorated. The beds are so comfortable! It is well stocked with basic items for cooking, etc. We loved the hot tub and fire pit! We did see a small bear walk past the house and a larger bear walk directly into the backyard/ parking area. I would not leave young children unattended outside. We had no problems. Love this home and hope to return one day. The location was perfect for us! Thank you Jeff & Scott and Penny! The check in and check out process so easy!
The property was very nice. Close enough that we walked into town center daily. The Hill it sets on gives a nice view but may be a little sleep for people not in shape. The house was perfect for us, very roomy and had everything you needed. We would gladly rent it again.

The property was as described and pictures were accurate. Nice views. Mattresses were a little too firm for us but overall it was great!
Beautiful cabin with a great view from high up in the mountains! The scenery & the fall colors, combined with quality family time and some much needed rest and relaxation made for a wonderful fall break! The cabin was perfect for us and our boys couldn’t get enough of pac-man and the other games! My husband & my favorite things (other than relaxing at the cabin and enjoying coffee ☕️ with a view each morning) was the Rocky Top Mountain Coaster. The boy’s favorite things were the hot tub, go karting and playing Pac-Man at the cabin.
The kitchen is well equipped and Alan the owner was great and very helpful. Very easy check in process. Amazing views from the cabin. 10 minutes drive to Gatlinburg downtown and 6 minutes away from the visitor center. We saw a family of 5 bears next to the front door and it was great experience!
This cabin is amazing! The views were perfect and made our anniversary that much more special! The cabin itself is BEAUTIFUL! Alan and Gail were the best hosts and you can tell they love this cabin and want their guests to have a wonderful experience!
We had a wonderful experience at the Bear Claw Cabin! It was clean and well maintained and in a perfect location!! So close to everything and right up the hill from the welcome center which is a trolley stop.We loved the option to sit and chill on the decks and watch the bears we saw daily or to head down to the trolley (which is free) and take in the sights in Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge. Both were a short trip!! We also loved the community pools for the hot days and the hot tub after a long day of sightseeing. It’s the perfect place!

Property was as perfect as it was described, Hosts were wonderful to work with and the view from the back deck is breathtaking!
Our stay was nice as always. Cabin was bigger than expected and the hot tub was great. It really helped after full days of walking around. Only negative thing I can say about the cabin is that although it was off of the parkway, it was to close to the parkway. We heard all the traffic passing by.
Property was great!! The view from the balcony was our favorite part! Very comfortable…not far to town…felt like you were secluded looking at the mountains!
We absolutely loved our week in the Smoky Mountains, and Angel’s Window was the perfect home base for us. We enjoyed how close we were to the hikes, scenery, and wildlife in the National Park, and how easily we could get to restaurants and mini-golf Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge! We loved the game room, hot tub, comfortable beds, and spacious privacy of the cabin! It was a great week, in spite of rain almost every day!! Loved the covered porches for watching the fog roll in and out every evening!!
Cabin was easy to get to and close to everything. Plenty of room and fun things to do in the cabin. Kitchen had everything you could need. We enjoyed our stay. Beautiful views from balconies!

We loved this place! It was so nice to return to after a day of hiking and exploring. Beds are very comfortable.
    Everything we wanted!
Everything was perfect with our stay. Pictures don’t do this cabin justice. Beautiful views, beautiful cabin. Had one question once we checked in and host responded quickly. Everything we needed and more were in the cabin. Beautifully decorated and comfortable. Very clean.
Very clean and comfortable cabin, had everything we needed. Our host communicated with us throughout the whole process and answered all of our questions. The information letter she provided included everything we needed to know about the area, including activities and dinning. Would love to stay here again.
We had an amazing family getaway to the mountains. The drive up the mountain is no joke 🙂 but views off the front and back porch are perfect! The cabin was very clean (probably one of the best VRBO experiences we have had) and exactly as described. The beds are comfortable and we had more than enough room as a family of 5. Communication with the property manager was easy and timely, before, during and after the trip. We enjoyed a trip to Cades Cove and Anakeesta. Anakeesta was a highlight for our kids (take the owners discount card for a nice discount :))!!

Cabin was perfect for a week away. View from the deck was awesome and we even saw a bear a few times. Great location and the hot tub was exactly what we wanted!
Beautiful cabin!! We chose this for our honeymoon and it was more than perfect!! The property owner was so nice and excellent communication before, during, and after stay. It was a dream vacation
The Sweat Escape was just as beautiful and clean as advertised. Only a few years old sitting high atop the ridge between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, it was perfect for visiting this part of the smoky mountains. Everything this included in the decorations, high speed internet and Roku on 3 large tv mad it extremely relaxing and enjoyable. The view off the deck was amazing paired with the big hot tub. Will stay here again.
We have loved our stay at The Sweet escape, so clean and beautiful and from coffee to towels for hot tub- everything is well thought out and you have everything you need! Perfect location – near Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge (like less than 10 minutes for either) and the location of home gives you the private secluded feel with breathtaking views !
“Sweet Escape” lived up to its name. The cabin was exactly as described and provided amazing views. It was nicely decorated, cozy, clean, and comfortable. Mike and Angela were very responsive and obviously care about their guests. We were blessed to stay at the cabin and found the time flew by as we enjoyed it so much. A bear even sauntered by on our second day and climbed one of the trees in front of the deck (we had prayed for the opportunity to see one :-). It is a great place to step away from the “busyness” of life to seek the Lord and be refreshed. We will definitely keep this in mind for a return visit.
