It’s an awkward time for the North American trio to be hosting the world’s biggest sports party together—after all, will incoming visitors from non-visa waiver countries need to fork over the $250 visa fee? Some estimates predict 1.25 million tourists could enter the US for the FIFA World Cup, while other reports place that as high as six million. (Very convenient.)
The tournament, which will conclude on July 19, 2026, will take place in 16 cities across North America. The United States is hosting the bulk of the tournament, with 78 out of 104 matches taking place stateside. Mexico will host from three stadiums, while Canada will host matches from Vancouver alone.
If you’re a soccer fan or a sports enthusiast, the upcoming games are likely to be an exciting time. But if you’re anything like me, you might instead be planning to avoid the crowded host cities at all costs.
Here’s what you need to know about the World Cup US hosting schedule. Remember: hotels in these cities are probably already sold out, rideshares and public transportation will be incredibly busy, and nightlife will be absolutely unmatched.
Below, I’m listing out the US hosting schedule by city instead of by date. Dates marked with an asterisk mean the game is taking place during the elimination rounds, and teams have yet to be finalized.
