Most travelers who visit Orlando are heading to Disney World, Universal Studios, SeaWorld, and/or LEGOLAND.

Unsurprisingly, the majority of these travelers have kids with them. The focus of the trip is exploring amusement parks and beyond as a family, making memories that will last a lifetime. In other words, finding places to go for adults in Orlando isn’t always top of mind when making a trip itinerary.
Still, adults might get the chance to tiptoe away from the kid-focused fun. Some might even be heading to the theme parks as a Disney adult, meaning they have more flexibility in terms of activities.
Whether you want to balance your Disney trip with a little adult off-hours adventures or escape for a romantic date one night while someone else watches the kids, you’ve got more options than you might think—and I’ve got ideas.
These are some of the best places to go for adults in Orlando, whether you’ve got a whole day to yourself or just a few precious hours.
Places to go for adults in Orlando: spas, speakeasies, & more
The Craft: spooky mixology
The Craft is a small speakeasy hidden away inside another popular lounge-bar called Cocktails and Screams. Cocktails and Screams is a craft cocktail bar that specializes in gory horror vibes—a place where Halloween never ends, so to speak. When you arrive, ask for The Craft, a hidden speakeasy with a slightly different cocktail menu and vibe.
Mathers Social Gathering: a stylish bar with a dress code
Looking for a slightly more austere drinking experience? Mathers Social Gathering is another speakeasy-style bar that hosts select burlesque nights and other events. It’s more upscale than others on this list and has a reasonable dress code. Housed on the third floor of a warehouse, it’s stylish, funky, and perfect for adults who don’t want any childlike themes.
Hanson’s Shoe Repair: invite-only speakeasy
I have one more speakeasy recommendation (who knew they were so popular in Orlando?): Hanson’s Shoe Repair. The only way to get in is to show up with the daily password, which you can get ahead of time by calling or texting. (You’ll see the number on their website.) The speakeasy is small, cozy, and effortlessly romantic.
Bull & Bear at the Waldorf: excellent date night dinners
If you’re a foodie who wants to dine well, this is one of the places to go for adults in Orlando. The back room is child-free, while the menu is also geared toward adult palates. As one of the most popular restaurants on OpenTable, it’s also a solid fine dining pick. Think: private club vibes.
Better Than Sex – A Dessert Restaurant: a promising late-night menu
This intimate and romantic restaurant has a full menu but specializes in the sweeter things in life. Also, great wine. The menu is full of imaginative names—that might make you blush. When you finish your meal, it’s time to head back to your hotel or rental and figure out whether the restaurant’s bold claim is true.
Dr. Philipps Center for the Performing Arts: catch a new type of show
There’s always something new on at the Dr. Philipps Center, from ballet shows to theatrical performances. The center also includes other smaller venues that you can check out, including the popular music club Judson’s Live. If you enjoy live performances, don’t skip out on Dr. Philipps Center for the Performing Arts.
Pro Sports: attend an NBA, MLS, or NWSL game
Orlando is home to the Orlando Magic (NBA), Orlando City (MLS), and Orlando Pride (NWSL). The MLS is the men’s soccer league, and the NWSL is the women’s soccer league. No matter what time of year you’re visiting, you can easily grab tickets to the pro leagues. Even better, NBA, MLS, and NWSL tickets are some of the most affordable in the country.
Orange County National: put like a pro
This is one of the preferred courses in town for locals and visitors. It’s a large complex, meaning you can almost always snag a tee time without too much notice. Plus, they host a range of events that are open to the public.
The Spa: soak in a hot tub between treatments
Affordable, professional, and with a full suite of services available, The Spa is a great pick if you want to stop in for a treatment or a full day of pampering. You can book facials, massages, nails, and plenty more. They also specialize in deep tissue sports massages and offer both male and female masseurs. Whether you want some solo time or a romantic spa date, go with The Spa.
