Did you binge Bridgerton? Are you eagerly awaiting the next season of The Crown to see how they handle Charles and Diana’s divorce? Do you love Downton Abbey? If you answered yes to any of those questions, you’ll probably feel right at home on a new river cruise inspired by British TV hits.
Fit For Royalty
Boutique cruise line European Waterways will host the voyage on its eight-passenger barge Magna Carta. It will cruise the storied River Thames, passing by some of England’s most popular sites. The itinerary includes royal palaces, the English countryside, aristocratic estates, and quaint villages.
Downton Abbey fans take note: The cruise includes a stop at Highclere Castle, famously home to the series’ Crawley family. Passengers will even have a chance to tour the castle, including bedrooms and main staterooms.
More To See
And that’s not all. Each Magna Carta cruise includes stops at other renowned and recognizable locales. If you loved Bridgerton, don’t miss Henry VIII’s Hampton Court, which may be more familiar to some as Queen Charlotte’s residence.
And of course, there’s also a stop at Windsor Castle, which Queen Elizabeth still calls home. Other stops and activities include:
- Tour of Cliveden and its gardens
- Tour the Stanley Spencer Gallery at Cookham
- Walking and biking along the Thames Footpath
- English cream tea at the Stafford Hotel in London
Departures are offered through October, and suites begin at $5,190 for a six-night itinerary.
