Not yet retired (sadly), he spends his downtime working around the kitchen, learning wine while heroically resisting becoming a jerk about it, scouring below the radar for exceptional restaurants, and traveling far and near with his lovely wife whenever possible. Their favorite trips consist of e-biking, regardless of the destination. Especially Europe. Because of the food and wine.

They live in Bethesda, Maryland, not too far from their two boys, who are both married and fully launched.
