10 Colorado Springs Vacation Rentals For Your Rocky Mountain Getaway

    William Stupp
    August 05, 2022

Colorado Springs is, as you might guess, a quintessentially Coloradan town. It is full of breweries and creative restaurants and offers countless options for outdoor activities. Only an 80-minute drive from busy Denver, it’s easily accessible and provides the perfect escape from the city crowds. Whether you’re an avid fisherman or hiker, or you simply like a good stroll every now and again, Colorado Springs has it all.

    Videos by TravelAwaits

Most of the must-see areas of Colorado Springs are near the city’s western end, where the urban area starts its climb up the serene Manitou Canyon. These areas include the historic neighborhood of Old Colorado City — an old mining town transformed into a delightful pedestrian district. Further west, at a higher elevation and just outside of Colorado Springs proper, lies the former resort town of Manitou Springs. No trip to the area is complete without an afternoon (or a full day) in Manitou and the nearby Cave of the Winds.

Old Colorado City is just below the city’s prime attraction: The Garden of the Gods National Natural Landmark. Knowing the failure of words to properly account for such beauty, we’ll simply suggest you look up pictures of the place. Red Rock Canyon, just across the highway from the national landmark, promises a similarly beautiful walk amidst geological wonders only with much smaller crowds. The features aren’t as grand as those across the way, but the area feels much wilder and is certainly worth a visit.

Further west still lies the feature which dominates the city: Pikes Peak. The 14,000-foot-tall mountain will play a big role in your vacation whether you ascend it on foot, drive to the summit, or simply ogle at it from below as it is visible throughout Colorado Springs.

Below is a list of 10 Vrbo house rentals from which to explore Colorado Springs, CO.

    Stratton House$462/nightly avg

Next to a creek and a multitude of attractive outdoor spaces, Stratton House is a great base for any family or group keen to fall under the mountains’ spells. It offers a slice of mountain life and easy access to the city’s urban and natural attractions. Enjoy eccentric indoor rock features, creekside dining, and a smart design. The property includes a hot tub hidden by trees and a historic yurt with a queen bed.

The home is close to The Broadmoor, the area’s famous five-star hotel which offers a lot more than just a place to sleep. The hotel’s highlight is definitely Seven Falls, a mind-boggling series of waterfalls open to the public.

Caren (property owner) was great at communicating and providing treats for us!
10 of us stayed in this wonderful property, ages ranged from 14 to 75! Three couples and four teenagers. It’s close to all the sites and perfectly lovely. Caren was the best and checked in with us regularly. Available, but not intrusive. The yurt (TB Hut) was a nice addition too. My 18 year old son enjoyed staying in it. If we visit again we’d definitely stay again. Highly recommend! You won’t be disappointed!
Great property! Close to everything we wanted to see. Great hiking near the house and beautiful views of the mountains. Caren was easy to communicate with and made sure everything was perfect for our stay. House is well equipped with soap, toilet paper, and trash bags.
Great house for us. Great support from host. Very positive experience. TT
We came with our young kids, my parents and a sitter. The kids loved the rock room and the upstairs area where they could play/watch tv/sleep. We enjoyed the sitting area next to the creek and seeing the occasional deer walk through the yard. Caren was very accommodating and great with communicating with us before and during our trip. It’s 2 miles from the Broadmoor so the location is perfect for going back and forth. We would love to come back every year!

Remote but still close to all must sees. The property was meticulous and unbelievably decorated. Most important ,the mattresses were very comfortable. Lastly, Steve the owner was always easy to contact.
Steve was great to work with and communicated everything that we needed and more.
Everything about this cabin lived up to its description, from the moment you pull up and step inside! There is nothing better than to be surrounded by the pines in such a cozy well appointed cabin, and to know that you are staying in a place of Cheyenne history. Steve and Maritza take great pride in this property and it shows in its attention to details and the care they go to make you feel welcome. This was such a special place to stay! Thank you so much
We spent four nights in August at the cabin and had a great time. Everything was as described and communication with the owner was excellent. We definitely recommend this property if you’re looking for a quiet cabin in the mountains.
there are not enough words to describe or even photos can register this place. The cabin exceeded our expectations. Our family enjoyed every moment and had a lot of fun. We are so grateful to stay in such of amazing place.

Large Home In The Northwestern Foothills$498/nightly avg

Enjoy commanding views of Pikes Peak, Cheyenne Mountain (home to the top-secret facilities of NORAD), and much else from this grand house in northwestern Colorado Springs. The modern home sits high on a ridge in a secluded neighborhood but it has more going for it than just scenic vistas. The kitchen is incredible, and there are plenty of games (like air hockey) and beautiful outdoor spaces. Old Colorado City is about 20 minutes away but this location is great for anyone interested in the city’s golf courses or planning a visit to the Air Force Academy. Great for families, the home has four bedrooms and sleeps nine.

Family gathered for son’s wedding. Home was roomy with amazing views of front range. Kitchen, laundry, hot tub & porches all made for wonderful trip.
This was a really lovely home with all the extras for a group of any age. There were 4 of us on our annual cousins’ trip and it couldn’t have been a nicer place. It was close to everything, well appointed, and very comfortable. We loved our stay there!
The beautiful mid-century modern home is private and, yet, centrally located. The amenities are perfectly thought out for families with young children (and grandchildren:), and the views are unparalleled. We will be returning.
This property has everything you could imagine. Loved the Colorado gift basket. Wildlife everyday and close to USAFA.
This property was perfect for our family to gather and explore CO Springs. We had so much fun on the nights we cooked dinners, with the kids being entertained at the same time, and spending time outside relishing the views and the weather. We had quick communication with the host when needed, which was only one time when a smoke detector battery needed to be changed. (It was changed swiftly while we were out). I would absolutely stay here again.

This was a wonderful place to stay! Cozy, quiet, and walking distance to Garden of the Gods. Close to restaurants and Manitou Springs. We were looking for a little downtime and this place fit the bill. Hot tub was nice!
Owners were hospitable and helpful. Hot tub felt great after lots of hiking. Could walk to Garden of the Gods in 2 minutes.
Great location. Very comfortable. Good experience.
Wonderful place for weekend great away
Great location and hot tub! The kitchen utensils and plates were dirty and the towels smelled of mold but we cleaned up and made the best of it.

    Downtown Victorian Home$225/nightly avg

Located downtown near Monument Creek and the beautiful Colorado College campus, this 19th-century home is ready for guests. Downtown Colorado Springs lacks the skyscrapers most of us associate with cities but it remains a lively place with a large selection of things to do. Enjoy a suburban lifestyle in an urban center. Though furnished with modern amenities, the home has hardwood floors and rustic wooden door and window frames, reminders of its age. All three bedrooms are located on the second floor.

Great house in great location. Very clean, lots of details. We had all the equipment need it. Everything was neat and fresh. We used Hot Tub every day. Great communication with Ana. Highly recommended.
We liked the comfortable, attractive furnishings. It was clean. The showers worked well. The beds were great. The kitchen was well equipped. We enjoyed hanging out in the yard, and the hot tub was nice, hot and clean. We were able to cook for ourselves, and accommodate 6 for dinner. The location is only a 5 minute walk from downtown, which we took repeated advantage of. Nothing not to like. It clearly requires a huge investment of time and care by the owner to keep in such great condition. Of course, well be back.
Lovely home with lots of character. Beautiful yard with well-maintained hot tub. Walking distance to local restaurants and a short drive to many local tourist spots. Would definitely stay here again!
Almost everything was great. Very disappointed in the pots and pans. Frying pans were not equipped to cook for 4.
Ana’s home is charming and we all loved every bit of our stay. We had everything we needed and the location was fantastic. You can walk to downtown Colorado Springs in less than 5 minutes. So that’s that’s a good thing for adults not wanting to drink and drive on a night out in the town. Beds were comfy, shower was hot, hot tub fabulous and the cleanliness was top-notch. Would stay again.

Who doesn’t love a good gimmick? This property is a brilliant contribution to the field of amusing contrivances; it is actually a refurbished street car. Retired from rocking up and down western streets, it is now a comfortable shotgun house stalled forever in historic Old Colorado City. The place is fully equipped with new furniture, complete with a full kitchen, comfortable queen bed, and a clean and stylish bathroom. Had a great stay at the Trolley Car! Clean, comfortable, quiet, and nestled just a couple blocks off of the main avenue in Old Colorado City, so it’s easy to explore all the shops and restaurants on foot. A real charming place for solo travelers or couples alike! Highly recommended!
I enjoyed the uniqueness of the Trolley and that was why I chose to stay there. It is super cute, clean and in walking distance to restaurants and shops. I would definitely go back!
Everything went very smoothly from reserving the Trolley to check in!

    Old Stage$462/nightly avg

“Western” isn’t just a geographical descriptor for this home in southern Colorado Springs. It isn’t even a design style but rather more of a spiritual characteristic. Blessed with mountain views and full of western motifs and Native American art, it is the kind of thing that comes to mind when you think of Colorado. This four-bedroom home near the Broadmoor is great for groups and families.

The house is cute and has a great view of the mountains. We really enjoyed the hot tub. The host was gracious, and left a bottle of wine for us, as an anniversary gift. Communication with the guest was easy. I recommend this property, especially for people with pets.
The place had a lot of space. Hot tub and fireplace was amazing and relaxing! The only cons I have was I got bit by a spider while sleeping and you can’t use your firestick to watch Netflix, Hulu, etc. Overall the place was great, will be coming back!
We had a great stay! House was close to everything we wanted to do on our trip. Loved the hot tub!
Jen and Robert were great!! The property was spectacular! It was beautiful and cleanliness was above and beyond! Would definitely stay here again!
Over all stay was great would definitely rent it again

This house was one great selection for us. We were able to accommodate 9 people in total. The house is well equipped, very quiet neighborhood close to everything. My teenager kids enjoyed the pool table, the sauna , the table games and the terrace. We had so much fun in This house and looking forward to coming back in the future.
Great outdoor area but we had to do maintenance on the a/c & shower drain. Kitchen was not clean at all but we didn’t let that stop us from having a good time.
Rating Details:The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless.I was very happy with the location.I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.Overall, I recommend this vacation rental.Reviewer Comments:Hi- we really enjoyed our stay. The house is beautiful and spacious. The view from the deck is breathtaking. The owner’s communication was excellent, and they sent me texts to ensure we we doing ok and had what we need.
Was very nice stay. Few maintenance issues which I am sure they will fix.
The location is perfect for quick access to many activities and restaurants which is important when traveling with children and full cars of men that don’t want to spend their time sitting in route! The view of the city is lovely and the abundance of animal wildlife seen daily is fantastic. We went back and forth between smaller, less updated homes with direct views verse this home and ultimately decided that our days would be spent out doing things and our evenings in, therefore, space won out – and we are so glad it did! Master shower to die for! At the end of the day, a walk in full body shower with 9 water sprays including a rain topper was just the ticket! Three ensuite bathrooms are perfect to give everyone personal space to relax. The owners were very helpful with tips when we asked.
