If your goal is to find a place to relax in the mountains, Steamboat Springs is absolutely the place for you.

    Videos by TravelAwaits

Once you’ve picked out one of the amazing vacation homes featured below, make the most of your trip by riding a gondola into the mountains, taking a dip in one of several hot springs in the area, exploring downtown, or hitting a local brewery. Steamboat Springs offers lots of activities year-round and is proud of its historic downtown sitting at 6,700 feet in the Rocky Mountains.

Each of the vacation homes we’ve selected sit high in the mountains and come highly rated with tons of positive reviews. Some can accommodate as few as four people, some in the range of 10 people, and one can host over 30 guests! With a wide variety of choices, we’re sure you’re going to find the perfect spot for your getaway. Scroll through, pick your place, and go enjoy that fresh mountain air.

We had a wonderful stay at the Flat Top Suite Under the Gondola. Very comfortable and SO clean! We traveled with a toddler and the place was also easy to child-proof by removing a handful of items from low cabinets and drawers and blocking a couple places (note that the floors, fireplace, etc. are stone, which was not a problem for us but I understand may impact other’s ability to child-proof). The living room and dining area had a lovely view of the town, and our daughter loved seeing the hot hair balloon every morning. The back yard was so nice to sit in, we really enjoyed the hummingbirds flitting around, and our pup enjoyed it too! Robin was a wonderful hostess.
This place was just what we were looking for. It was very dog a kid friendly and had great outdoor space for morning coffee and evening grilling. The location is walking distance to the base of the mountain which is great. Would definitely recommend this location when visiting Steamboat – we will be back!
Everyone loved our stay in Steamboat. The kids loved the room to run. The dogs loved the thick walls and fenced in yard. Adults loved walking to the base area. Will stay here again.
Nice place! Beautiful deck but Flat Top has “shared” deck space with strangers despite having a back door directly into deck area. Make sure you’re dressed appropriately 1st thing in the morning! Other rooms have secured dedicated space for personal use. Wish we would have known that when we picked this very exposed rental! 🙂
This place was lovely, spacious, and dog friendly, with a great view. The owner lives onsite and we got to speak with her a few times.

Our trip to Hansi’s cabin had been planned for seveal months, but was suddenly put on hold when my wife suffered a serious health condition just one month before we were to leave. Two weeks later, her doctor encouraged her to go ahead with her plans to make the trip , he thought it would be good for her. I was a bit nervous about being that far from home with her but also knew that her love for the mountains could be good for her healing process. We have stayed at several cabins across Colorado and sometimes when you arrive you are somewhat disappointed with the cleanliness and upkeep of the cabin or maybe the description was misleading… that was not the case with Hansi’ s cabin. When we arrived everything was clean and cozy and had all the amenities we needed to have a relaxing, stress free vacation. Sitting on the deck enjoying the wildlife, the awesome views and the gorgeous sunsets was just what she needed. We are back in central Illinois now reflecting on our relaxing vacation and how grateful we are that we got to spend another week in the mountains together and also how thankful we are that there are people like Hansi and his family who are willing to share their little piece of heaven with us so we can make these memories in such a beautiful location. If you are looking for a perfect mountain getaway to spend time with family in a beautiful setting, Hansi’s cabin will not disappoint.
We had a great time in the Elk River Valley. Super cozy and cute cabin, comfortable beds, close to town, beautiful views and great amenities. We will definitely come back!
This home is absolutely incredible. It somehow is has everything you need, yet nothing more. From the moment you pull into the driveway (which is a wonderful walk and up and down to get your day started) you feel a sense of peace and a respect for nature. It is far enough you get peace and quiet, yet close enough to run to town or the nearby trails. While my husband and I do enjoy traveling there alone, it would be great for 4 as well. We have stayed here any times over the years and it is always spotless and very well cared for, it does not feel like a rental. The owners appear to have great respect for the environment and you can sense that in the purity of the home. If you book this, don’t forget to go outside at night and lie on the loungers on the deck and take in the incredible night sky!
Wow! This cabin is cozy and charming as well as up to date comfortable and convenient! The views never quit and the spacious deck is the perfect place to relax and take it all in. Being close to town was great as we had dinner at several excellent restaurants and didn’t have to drive too far after to get “home.” I can’t say enough about everything this place has to offer! We can’t wait to come back.
This cabin had the most beautiful view and sunsets. lT was magical. We loved it!

Roomy enough for our family and our 3 dogs. Comfy beds, decent kitchen , fluffy towels and the free-standing gas stoves take the chill off in no time. Great views of town and mountains. Plenty of parking on the pull-through driveway. Quiet neighborhood. We were happy to find a place that would allow dogs and be comfortable for us. Like many rentals , there are chips in some dishes and most of the skillets are long past their prime. But the gas range is good, the coffee maker works and the fridge is family-sized. We would definitely stay here again!
Happy with location , communication , ease of check in but the house is dirty. I realize that it allows dogs which is why we stayed here but the dirt and smell of urine was over powering.
The home was great. Comfortable beds, very cozy, great kitchen, hottub and upper deck w/ afternoon sun. Thanks!
Great views yet among the trees giving a secluded feel. The layout of the house worked perfect for our group. The well-stocked amenities were spot on and made fixing our own meals convenient. The dog loved our stay too (the chipmunks were quite entertaining).
Owner was very helpful, we had to rebook our trip last minute due to bad weather in May and let us reschedule to an available date. We arrived in the evening. There was some double booking problems but the other party had already left due to the place wasn’t cleaned up at all. Cleaning service showed up late I’m guessing. The cleaning person there and said the place would not be done until around 8:30pm. We came back around 9pm. It was mostly clean but a lot of corners with lots of dust, spider webs and dog hair, all the carpets, couches and rugs had dog hair. It was attempted to be cleaned but it wasn’t great. Noticed a couple smoke detectors were hanging by the wires and found out why on the last night at 4:37am, they all went off and turned back off a few minutes later. Wasn’t able to find which one set them all off. Windows open but most are in need of lubrication, can be difficult to open. Bathrooms are surface clean but the tubs have caulking falling out and mold around them. Batteries for heater control in master were low so it was making clicking noises, thankfully easy to take them out. A piece of furniture has pretty bad burns on it, looks like it was too close to the fireplace at some time. Really in need of deep cleaning, maintenance and replacing of broken or worn out things. The hot tub was perfect, clean and in excellent shape.

Perfect for a small group and great location, got to see wildlife and we liked the creek right behind the house. Great part of town to walk our pups.
This cabin was cozy, extremely well equipped, and just a short walk to all that downtown Steamboat Springs has to offer. Whether sitting by the fireplace or outside by the brook with a good book and a cup of coffee, it could not have been more comfortable. (And visits from Cooper, the dog next door, were an added benefit!)
Quiet neighborhood, friendly host and easy walk to town.
A nice, comfortable and quiet place located right on the creek.
    Simply perfect. Book and enjoy!

I’m hesitant to give a review, I fear we will not get this property again lol -the place was great! It was clean, well furnished, and we couldn’t be happier. Didn’t spend much time during the day in the home since we use it as a base of operations for all of our outdoor activities. Learned after the first day to keep the air conditioner set pretty cool and to pull the shades over the huge windows. The owner suggested this and she knew what she was talking about. Temperature stayed great after making the simple change. We stayed during a hot period in mid/late July.
This is a really nice house with a well-equipped kitchen, good air conditioning and comfortable beds… But the highlight is truly the view. We spent every morning having breakfast overlooking the flat top mountains. Afternoon sun was strong, but there is an automatic awning to keep the place cool. We had dinner on the side deck, and The sunset to the west every night was gorgeous. Hot tub was relaxing and clean. Thank you so much Marguarite. We had a great time.
Our host and the home were perfect! The views are stunning. The kitchen had everything we needed and the bedroom set up was perfect for three adults. I highly recommend this home.
We stayed here over Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed the house, hot tub and views. It was great having the use of a garage and a secure place to store ski gear. We fortunately did have some clear days looking our over the valley and also got to see the weather coming in from the flat tops. We would stay here again.
Great location, lots of room with plenty of closet space. We’ll be back!!!

We were up for a short adults only weekend to celebrate a 40th birthday. The location was great. Very clean and well maintained. We spent most of the time on the deck and in the hot tub. Fantastic visit.
Very comfortable stay for all 6 adults and 2 dogs! Very nice to have bathrooms in each of the bedrooms and easy access for the dogs to go outside. Very close to everything we did in town. The house was well stocked and had an abundance of hot water for all 6 of us to shower at night. We only had one minor issue with a blown fuse but was able to get it fixed right away. Would highly recommend for a larger family or group! Would love to stay again sometime!
    Very good place to stay
Great operations base for a Summer visit to Steamboat! Less than 10 minutes to downtown and the Yampa River, yet feels very private. The home has a great layout for a family and awesome views of the mountains and sunrise. The owners provide a ton of additions in terms of grills, coffee, waters, and cooking spices. The house has one of the easiest check out procedures we have encountered. The owners are very laid back and had very simple requests of the guests. We would rent the house for a year if we could! Perfect spot to explore the Steamboat attractions from.
My family of 7 had a wonderful vacation in steamboat springs. The house was in a perfect location. It was fully stocked with anything you might need. We loved tubing on the yampa river. Thank you for letting us use your beautiful home.

We loved the house – it was perfect for the 7 of us old friends. At first it was hard to find but then we realized that we needed to go up the driveway marked 2640. We cooked and ate all of our meals there – the kitchen was great! We enjoyed the hot tub and gathering on the front deck for cocktails in the evenings – what a view! The house is clean and comfortable. We plan to make this an annual trip!

Everything was amazing!!! So much open space to hang and relax. I loved the fun we had in the loft with so much fun with bonding with playing pool, shuffle board, and legit classic arcade video games. I want to do it all again!!!
Top notch property, with excellent location and fantastic service.
This was our first time to Steamboat and we absolutely fell in love!! The location of the property was fantastic! Close enough to everything and if come in the winter months, a short 5 min walk to the slopes. The house was VERY clean and had plenty of space for our party! Each bedroom has its own bathroom which is a nice plus! The hot tub was great to come home to after dinner and the pool is literally 30 yards away. John was great on check in and letting us know where we could eat/entertain our kiddos! I highly recommend this property and hope to be back someday!
This was an excellent property to have an adult weekend to celebrate my wife’s 40th birthday. Thank you for having a clean well stocked property available!
Had a wonderful stay in this beautiful home! The owner and property manager were great to work with. Celebrating my husband’s 60th Birthday with friends and family….it was great that all had their own bed/bath, kitchen and dining areas were great for dinners in (the kitchen is well stocked!), and the jacuzzi was a hit! Everyone was comfortable and the location is convenient with great views! Can’t wait to return! Thank you!

My husband and I decided that we wanted to get married in the mountains and Sky Valley Chateau made all of our dreams come true. The hosts were so helpful and communicative not only while we were there but during the entire process. They accommodated vendors coming by and even offered to accept packages for us as they came in preparation for our big day. I don’t have enough kind words to say about them!
We hosted a micro wedding for 30 people at the beautiful Sky Valley Chateau. From start to finish, we were blown away by the property, location, and stunning views. David and his family are excellent hosts who will go above and beyond to ensure your stay is amazing.
    Terrific in every way.
We chose this venue for our 20 person microwedding. It is a beautiful property but unfortunately it was not the experience we expected. Owner was difficult to reach for wedding operation questions. We never got answers to questions we had and we’re misled on other things. After we had already booked our nights (non-refundable) the owner added an additional 1,000 of fees for having the ceremony on site and bringing our dogs. The listing is posted as being air conditioned, it is not. There are too electric air conditioners on 2/3 floors that could not support even mild fall temperatures. We were told there was 30 matching of all tableware who can was untrue. There were only 12 plastic wine glasses and plastic glassware. The bar area had only three cups. Our rental company coordinated delivery with the owner who instructed them to leave the rentals yards from the entrance to the building. Owner gave very specific instructions on operating the hot tub. There is a several hundred pound cover that needs to be carefully rolled over a fragile glass screen which he had told us when we arrived had already been broken twice since they’ve owned the property (less than a year). There is this 4ft drop next to the hot tub that is very dangerous. Somehow the screen got cracked despite our best efforts, showing there is obviously a flaw in this design and this will only continue to happen until a solution is installed by the owners. The owners dogs several times ran into our party and aggressed at our dogs. On one of the nights, all three of the owners dogs barked non-stop, echoing the entire property, and keeping people up at night. We asked for a broom for our chefs to clean the kitchen several times and never received one. We purchased the VRBO insurance per the owners recommendation. After we departed and we were trying to enjoy our honeymoon, the owner continually called and texted us regarding the hot tub damage, not understanding how the insurance worked. Overall, it’s a very pretty property but the owners are obviously new to this and have some improvements to make. When you pay this much for a property, there is a certain level of service you expect and unfortunately we did not receive that.
We stayed at this property to celebrate our wedding in Steamboat. The home is stunning and the property is beautiful. Dave and Erica are wonderful hosts and are available if you need anything (i.e.; sheets, towels, etc.). They are super friendly and very helpful. The kitchen is outstanding. It is stocked with everything you could ever want or imagine. There’s way more kitchen equipment than I have in my home; it’s all very high-end. The bedrooms are beautifully furnished and the linens are so clean, pretty, and comfortable. Honestly, I can’t think of any improvements. It was a dream weekend for us.
