Even the Grand Canyon’s West Rim, once a quieter outpost, has become a hub for those passing through. It’s especially popular for those visiting from Las Vegas to tiptoe across the Skywalk.
But if you want a quiet—even serene—visit to the Grand Canyon, you need to head to its North Rim. You can hike the trails, venture on the back of a mule, and otherwise soak up the Grand Canyon’s stunning views at your own pace. There are also ranger-led tours and scenic drives, which have become more popular in recent years.

This three-bedroom is a new build that sleeps up to seven guests thanks to two sleeper couches in the living room. It’s bright, airy, and has all the basics you’ll need to prepare for an adventure in the North Rim—or further north at Zion and Bryce, if you’re heading north. Out back, you can also enjoy a sitting area with a grill. During the day, it might be too hot, but the nights are cool and the night sky is covered in stars.
Western Comfort (Fredonia)
Enjoy a large two-bedroom home that comes with a Wild West feel. It almost looks like a saloon from the outside, with a full wraparound porch where you can laze away. A private entrance is found just inside the home where a large atrium leads into the ballet-studio-turned-Airbnb. Perfect for anyone who likes unique stays.
