The United States is particularly blessed when it comes to fantastic sunsets. We’ve got the length of the West Coast and its leagues of dramatic Pacific Ocean coastline. We even have Florida’s Gulf Coast, which faces the west and makes for gorgeous, subtropical sunsets.
But how well do we stack up when it comes to restaurants that offer colorful, vibrant sunsets? That’s a much tougher task, one that involves a balance of great food, unobstructed views, and great weather.
A closer look at the top 10 locations for best sunset dining around the world
Recently, Journeyscape, a company that specializes in building out tailored vacations, took a close look at the world’s best sunset dining spots. The data-driven study looks at metrics like restaurants with outdoor seating, sunset glow duration, average daily summer rainfall, and how long sunset lasts after 7:30 pm.
The study prioritizes places with good summer weather, long ‘golden hour’ glows, and restaurants with plenty of outdoor seating. When it comes to enjoying dusk on vacation while eating dinner, the United States and the Mediterranean come out ahead.
In fact, Journeyscape’s study lists only three countries in its Top 10 dusk dining spots: the United States, Croatia, and Greece. That’s great company to be in.
