A first-of-its-kind experience is coming to Tennessee. Immerse yourself in the nighttime stars with the Smoky Mountains as your backdrop.
Lumina Night Walk
The Lumina Night Walk is coming to the popular adventure park Anakeesta. The park is turning more than 80 acres into an outdoor wonderland, using projections, lighting, and music to enhance the natural nighttime scenery. Anakeesta is partnering with a Canadian-based multimedia company to bring the vision to life in the fall of 2022.
“As one of Tennessee’s premier destinations, we strive to bring innovative adventures to our guests and we are thrilled to introduce an incomparable nighttime experience to the country,” said Bob Bentz, founder and managing partner of Anakeesta. “Families and guests of all ages will be captivated by the spectacular state-of-the-art special effects, enchanting storytelling, and more surprises.”
Anakeesta is not yet announcing the name or exact theme of the Lumina Night Walk, but they urge visitors to follow them on social media for clues in the upcoming weeks. A date for ticket sales is also pending.
Moment Factory Comes To The U.S.
The company behind the Lumina Night Walk, Moment Factory, aims to create an immersive and emotional experience using multi-media platforms to enhance natural beauty. There are only 12 of these walks in the world: seven in Canada, three in Japan, one in Singapore, and one in France. Each walk has a different theme. They include Ocean, Mountains, Futuristic, and Island.
The Lumina Night Walk in Anakeesta will be the first in the United States.
Anakeesta is an award-winning adventure park located in Gatlinburg, near the border of Tennessee and North Carolina. Anakeesta means “Place of the Balsams” or “high ground” in Cherokee. You can see the Anakeesta Rock in the nearby Great Smoky Mountain National Park.
Since Anakeesta sits on top of the highest point in Gatlinburg, there are only two ways to get to it: ride a chondola (a hybrid of a gondola and a chairlift) or take the Ridge Rambler adventure vehicle to the top. The view from the top offers a 360-degree look at Gatlinburg below and the nearby Smoky Mountains.
Anakeesta offers adventures in the form of a multi-sensory botanical garden, art, music, and the longest Treetop Skywalk in the country. For a little more thrill, try your hand at one of the challenge courses, a zip line, or the mountain coaster.
