Singer Island is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean on the east and the Florida Intracoastal Waterway on the west, offering a multitude of water activities including kayaking, boating, world-class deep-sea fishing, crystal clear snorkeling, and scuba diving that South Florida is famous for.
Within minutes in any direction are world-famous golf courses, including the PGA National. Preseason baseball can be enjoyed at Roger Dean Stadium, the training camp site of several major league teams.
Palm Beach Shores is conveniently located 65 miles north of Miami and 160 miles south of Disney World in Orlando.

There are so many things to do in and around Palm Beach Shores. Nearby, world-famous Palm Beach, West Palm Beach, North Palm Beach, and Palm Beach Gardens all have unique and wonderful attractions.
However, if you want to enjoy a quiet, relaxing weekend — Palm Beach Shores is for you. Away from all the glitz and glamour, here’s how to spend a romantic weekend in Palm Beach Shores.

Relax On The Beach
This is the number one reason people escape to the shores of Florida. There are many fantastic beaches in “The Beaches” area. Some say that Palm Beach Shores has the best in the state. Due to the Gulf Stream’s proximity, the water temperature is, on average, four degrees warmer than other beaches.
In the heart of Palm Beach Shores on North Ocean Avenue is Riviera Beach (aka Singer Island Beach) — a beautiful white sand beach with loads of seashells and crystal clear waters. The pavilion offers shade, benches, bathrooms, and rinse stations. In the grassy park, you’ll find shade trees, picnic tables, and barbecues, plus a playground, tennis and volleyball courts.
The main public parking lot is approximately 500 feet from the beach. There is limited parking, including accessible parking, on the street closer to the park. A paved accessible walkway runs through the park out to the beach.
Less than 9 miles to the north of Palm Beach Shores is Juno Beach. It’s serene, quiet, and a hidden gem. It’s where the locals go. You may even see turtles on the beach.
Enjoy a short half-mile walk up the beach to Juno Beach Pier. Stroll along the pier and enjoy the scenic view. The full-service Pier House features a snack bar, gift store, and a variety of fishing tackle, including rental poles and bait.
Two parking lots on Hwy A1A are just across from beach access points. Access 17 has a rinse station. Access 18 has restrooms near the parking lot. There is a parking lot and beach access, showers, and restrooms at Juno Beach Pier.
Meet Turtles At Loggerhead Marinelife Center
There is nothing more memorable than seeing adorable baby hatchling turtles make their run across the beach to the ocean for their very first swim. Palm Beach Shores is a prime location to witness this event.
Hatching season ranges from April to October. You can always get up close and personal with sea turtles at Loggerhead Marinelife Center. You can even name or adopt an injured sea turtle.
Various guided tours are available, including a behind-the-gates look at the sea turtle hospital. Admission and parking are always free. Tours have a per-person fee by reservation online.

Climb Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse
Who doesn’t love the romance of lighthouses? Or the view from the top? Once fire-engine red, now a subdued red-brick color, the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse attracts scores of visitors every year. Sitting on a small hill just across the Loxahatchee River from Singer Island, the Lighthouse was lit for the first time in 1860. The 108-foot tower sits on a 48-foot hill, has 105 steps in a spiral staircase and three landings.
The Lighthouse is open for climbing. There are discounts on ticket prices for seniors, military, and children. The museum, gift shop, grounds, and restrooms are accessible.
Take A Scenic Hike
There are several great natural spaces for hiking north of Palm Beach Shores. Juno Dunes is one such area. There are two loop trails within 576 acres between Hwy 1 and the Intracoastal Waterway near the Loggerhead Marinelife Center.
Juno Dunes is just that, mainly sand dunes with low shrubbery. There’s not much shade, so hike early or in the off-season. Bring water and wear appropriate shoes.
Another environmental treasure is John D. MacArthur Beach State Park. There are two self-guiding nature trails within the park. The Dune Hammock Trail and the Satinleaf Trail gently wind through subtropical forests of trees and plants.

Cruise In A Water Taxi
There are three marinas in Palm Beach Shores, all offering a multitude of boating activities. Park the car at Sailfish Marina and travel by water taxi to Peanut Island (see below) or Palm Beach.
Enjoy a narrated 90-minute sightseeing cruise of Lake Worth. See and hear about Palm Beach’s famous buildings, mansions, yachts, and properties from the water. Check tour dates and times and make reservations online.
Explore Peanut Island
Accessible by boat only, visitors to Palm Beach Shores can take a water taxi to this unique man-made 80-acre tropical park situated in the Intracoastal Waterway.
Peanut Island is a favorite destination for boaters and outdoor recreational enthusiasts. Fishing and snorkeling are popular activities in the clear waters that surround the island. Beautiful beaches provide the perfect setting to enjoy fun in the sun. Paved walking pathways wind around the perimeter of the Island. A truly unique place, Peanut Island Park has something for everyone.
Hidden on Peanut Island (currently closed to the public) is the underground Kennedy Bunker, built for President John F. Kennedy in the early 1960s.
Experience The Gilded Age At Flagler Museum
The Flagler Museum is a Gilded Age must for the romantic soul. Originally a winter retreat, “Whitehall” was built by business tycoon Henry Flagler in 1902 as a wedding present for his new wife, Mary. How romantic is that?
This historic mansion has been preserved and restored by Flagler’s granddaughter and opened to the public to enjoy. Today, Whitehall is a National Historic Landmark and Museum, offering self-guided tours, changing exhibitions, and special programs.

Be sure to walk the immaculately groomed grounds. Enjoy the view looking out over Lake Worth. Notice the cocoanut grove, the only remaining grove in Palm Beach. The impressive glass Pavilion houses Flagler’s private railcar.
The museum is an easy 15-minute drive south of Palm Beach Shores. Tickets are less than $20 and can be purchased online. Allow at least 60-90 minutes for the tour.

Best Restaurants In Palm Beach Shores
Great restaurants in and around Palm Beach Shores are plentiful. There are several fun local hot spots, just steps from Riviera Beach. A 20-minute drive to the north offers a plethora of eateries in Juno Beach and Jupiter. Here are just a few of our favorites so far.
Johnny Longboats
This restaurant offers an eclectic menu, even sushi, in a fun beachy environment. Boats, pirates, giant sharks, and crabs adorn the ceiling throughout every room and the spacious patio. Johnny Longboats is probably our favorite place within walking distance from our hotel and Riviera Beach.
The Islander Grill And Tiki Bar
Located inside the Palm Beach Shores Resort, The Islander Tiki Bar, outside by the pool, is casual, fun, and friendly. The circular seating around the bar allows for easy conversation and making new friends. The food is more than fantastic. The Mahi Tacos are worth writing home about (as they say) and the drink specials are exotic and fun.
Jetty’s
Jetty’s is perfect if you’re looking to “dress up” for a romantic dinner or special occasion. Enjoy a romantic seafood lunch or dinner on the water, right across from the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse.
1000 North
1000 North is upscale and elegant. A great place for steak and seafood. There are four separate and stunning dining rooms, all on the waterfront overlooking the Jupiter Inlet.

No matter your taste, there are a variety of places to stay in Palm Beach Shores: VRBOs, condos, hotels, and motels like the Sailfish Marina. Palm Beach Shores has an ordinance that no building can be taller than six stories high, preserving the skyline and beachfront property for generations to come. Just another reason to stay in Palm Beach Shores.
Palm Beach Shores Resort
A romantic place to stay and known as The Pink Palace, Palm Beach Shores Resort is large enough to be a “grand” hotel but small enough to be intimate. It’s also right on the beach.
Two-room suites are updated and modern with a full kitchen, large bathroom, private balconies, and gorgeous views of Singer Island, the Atlantic Ocean, or the tropical courtyard and pool.
Amenities include bicycle and kayak rentals as well as chairs and cabanas for the beach. There is an on-site restaurant and poolside tiki bar and grill, gift shop, and full-service spa. The “mall” with shops and restaurants is within walking distance.
Marriott’s Ocean Pointe
Another favorite right on the beach is Marriott’s Ocean Pointe. This is an upscale resort with a warm, comfortable atmosphere.
Accommodations range from single guest rooms to multiple room villas. All are spacious with balconies, and some rooms even have private whirlpools.
There are two pools with poolside restaurants and bars. Other amenities include a fitness center, miniature golf, and tennis courts.
