Even more remote villages probably have a cobbled main drag that you can explore on foot. And they’re much easier to find compared to walkable US destinations.
But one study from Braw Scottish Tours took a fine-tooth comb to Europe’s most walkable destinations. Turns out, some large cities are easier to navigate than others, especially when you look at the average walking distance between main attractions.
If you’re someone who wants to really stretch your gambs while vacationing in Europe, consider planning a visit to a city that’s even more walkable than the rest. Here’s a little peek into the continent’s most walkable cities.
Europe’s most walkable cities based on the distance between major sites
Before we dive into the results, let’s cover how Braw Scottish Tour analyzed the data. The company took a look at Europe’s 30 most popular cities for tourists. Using that list, they then calculated the distance between its top five attractions and landmarks.
The idea is to break down which cities are most walkable in terms of sites you want to see. Easy-peasy, no? Actually, the rankings might surprise you—not many ultra-popular hubs have broken the top 10 placements.
