I’m all about glamping.
Videos by TravelAwaits
Glamping is one of the easiest ways for travelers who don’t consider themselves to be outdoorsy to get out into the wild. It combines the world of hotel-style amenities with the Great Outdoors, letting you book comfortable stays with running water and heat… even if you’re in the middle of the woods.
That being said, you might feel a little intimidated about booking with a glamping company. In recent years, companies like Huttopia and AutoCamp have made it truly easy to book your first glamping adventure. They have all the amenities a first-timer could want—even during winter stays.
Still, you might want a name you know if you’re going to venture into the boonies to glamp. If that’s the case, skip the uncertainties and check out Marriott’s new Postcard Cabins project. It’s part of their Outdoor Collection, letting you book tiny homes out in nature for a seamless glamping experience.
What are Postcard Cabins?

Postcard Cabins are part of Marriott Bonvoy’s Outdoor Collection. The goal of the Outdoor Collection is to create ‘unique retreats immersed in nature’, which is a pretty drastic deviation from most of Marriott’s other large-scale hotel projects. Think: boutique mini-cabins set in or close to National Parks.
The cabins are cozy and minimalistic, designed in a Scandinavian style that will make you feel like you’re in Europe. Each tiny home comes with a bathroom, kitchenette, and massive window that lets you feel immersed in your surroundings. Just know that these are designed for you to unplug for a bit—you won’t find any TVs, and Wi-Fi isn’t high speed.
Cabins are laid out on private land, usually with a few dozen glamping setups. You can book the whole site, if you want, or a few cabins to gather with friends. (Or drop off the map solo or with a romantic partner—your choice.) Some cabins also come with outdoor areas like fire pits.
The added perk here is that, because the Postcard Cabins are part of the Marriott Bonvoy setup, you can actually earn points while you disappear into nature for a while.
How can you book a Postcard Cabin—and where are they?

Postcard Cabins are available in 32 locations across the United States. You can see the ‘heat map’ of Postcard Cabins listed above. You can search for them based on region and proximity to major cities like DC, Chicago, Seattle, and more.
Just know that all properties differ in terms of the property type (as in, canyons versus forest), the number of cabins available, the types of cabins available, and programming.
