That’s a pretty big deal, especially for Spring Breakers around the Midwest. American Airlines is based out of Chicago O’Hare International Airport, which began heavy construction in 2018. Though some of the most intensive projects have finished, the airport is still aiming to open its new concourse by 2032, before finishing in 2034.
In short, it’s been a bit of a headache for travelers and American Airlines flyers—and hiccups are expected for the next six years.
To sweeten the deal, American is upping its flight routes from Chicago. Here’s what you need to know.
What to know about American Airlines’ new flights from O’Hare
American Airlines is rolling out 100 new flights from Chicago O’Hare that will serve over 70 destinations around the country and world. It’s also boosting its summer routes to both Paris and Dublin, for example, giving you affordable routes at O’Hare.
The push for more flights is part of American Airlines’ focus on developing its presence in major hubs, which are critical layover points. Beyond boosting its reach around main hubs, American will also increase daily departures during the spring break rush.
Just in time for spring break 2026, American Airlines will offer 100 peak daily departures to spring break hotspots, nearly doubling its service in places like Las Vegas, Orlando, Panama City Beach, and Sarasota. That means certain hubs like Orlando will have more than 500 daily departures, up 30% from 2025.
If you’re heading to Florida or Vegas for spring break this year, keep a lookout for affordable American Airlines flights. If you’re in the Midwest, look for an affordable route with a stopover at O’Hare.
