Tiki Suite
I had to kick the list off with this amazing tiki suite that my husband and I stayed in on our last night in Key West this past January. They call it a “houseboat,” but it’s more like a dock that has had a tiki hut built on it. We rented it because my husband wanted to stay somewhere on the water without spending a grand a night. It certainly is on the water! Anchored out in the harbor away from land, the tiki suites (there is one more) are only accessible by water shuttle.
We relaxed in the hammock, snorkeled off the deck, and soaked up the sun setting over the water. Double doors on three sides of the one-room suite made it possible to watch the sun come up as well. We paddled around on the two standup paddleboards until it was time to check out.
You do have to bring food, drinks, and ice for the cooler since Uber Eats doesn’t have a marine division yet. Running the air conditioner requires turning on the generator and there are only 20 gallons of water, so I wouldn’t recommend it for an extended stay, but it sure was cool for a night!
