Ambler Texas Kitchen + Cocktails, located in the popular Hotel Contessa, is launching a beer tasting plus food pairing adventure in partnership with RIO River Cruises. RIO River Cruises offers boat tours that float up and down the River Walk—you’ve likely seen a tour if you’ve visited the area before.
The program is offered for a limited time, running each Friday this September. Here’s how to join.
Inside Ambler Texas Kitchen + RIO’s Beer Tasting Cruise
Ambler Texas Kitchen’s Beer Tasting Cruises is a month-long series that combines craft beer favorites with seasonal brews and delicious small bites. Tickets cost $60 per person (available via Go Rio) and include 4-5 craft beer tastings, food pairings, and a trip down the famous San Antonio River Walk.
Tours run for around 45 minutes. All tours depart from the River Level of Hotel Contessa at 7 pm. Despite the uniform location and time, every cruise has different brewery partners, meaning Ambler Texas Kitchen will tailor all pairings to the current beer list.
The series culminates with the Oktoberfest Finale. Warsteiner Brewery, featured on September 25, is coming all the way from Warstein, Germany, making the tour ideal for beer aficionados.

- Friday, September 11: Manhattan Project Brewery, Saint Arnold Brewing Company, Live Oak Brewing Company, and Karbach Brewing Company
