Luxury cruise fans have a new reason to rejoice.
The Silver Nova, Silversea Cruises’ newest vessel, embarked on her maiden voyage earlier this week. The 7-day round-trip cruise aboard the Nova-class ship will make calls in Slovenia, Croatia, and Montenegro before returning to Venice, Italy.
“It was incredibly emotional to welcome guests aboard Silver Nova ahead of her maiden voyage,” Barbara Muckermann, president of Silversea Cruises, said in a statement. “Benefiting from an innovative asymmetrical design, she immerses guests into the destination at every turn — a strong expression of our brand mission. As one of the most spacious ships at sea, and with the broadest array of bars, lounges, and restaurants in ultra-luxury cruise travel, Silver Nova elevates the experience for our guests like never before.”
Elevating Luxury To A Higher Level
Silversea Cruises is one of five cruise brands owned by Royal Caribbean Group. The ultra-luxury Silver Nova is Silversea’s 12th ship and the first to launch this year for Royal Caribbean Group.
“Silver Nova introduces an entirely new take on luxury at sea,” according to Silversea Cruises. “Her innovative design, which prizes openness over symmetry and incorporates an unprecedented use of approximately 4,000m2 of glass, immerses guests into the destination from virtually all venues and suites, with far-reaching views at every turn.”
Indeed, the ship’s pool deck overlooks the ocean on her starboard side. The Dusk Bar and the Marquee outdoor food and drink venues offer views from the ship’s aft and stern respectively.
The Silver Nova is also extremely spacious. The ship is able to accommodate 728 passengers in 13 different suite categories, all of which include butler service and the use of a private veranda.
The largest suite is the 1,324-square-foot Otium Suite, which has floor-to-ceiling windows and offers 270-degree views. It also features its own balcony and whirlpool.
Know Before You Sail
Following her maiden voyage, Silver Nova will spend the summer in the Mediterranean before heading to the Caribbean and South America in November, Silversea explains.
Prices for voyages aboard the Silver Nova, of course, vary by length of trip and room category, but a 9-day voyage departing from New York to San Juan, Puerto Rico, on November 18 begins at $4,450 per person based on double occupancy, according to Silversea.
Then, on January 4, 2024, the ship will embark on the 71-day Grand Voyage South America, which will visit 38 destinations in 18 countries. Prices for that voyage, including airfare and based on double occupancy, begin at $50,900.
