Calling all scarecrow hunters! For its 37th year, Scarecrow Weekend is back in downtown St. Charles, Illinois. Celebrate the fall season while enjoying live entertainment, activities for the whole family, and of course, handmade scarecrows.
Scarecrow Weekend
This weekend of fun will get you into the fall spirit with lots of family activities in Lincoln and Pottawatomie parks. Scarecrow Weekend has festive photo opportunities, professional pumpkin demonstrations, a craft show, live entertainment, and the Family Zone with face painting, balloon art, a bubble artist, and a magic show.
You won’t want to miss the Scarecrow in a Box. You can buy everything you need to make a scarecrow including pantyhose, twine, an outfit, and straw all in one box to take home.
Many local businesses and establishments downtown will host events, offer specials, and serve food and drinks.
Scarecrow Contest
A highlight of Scarecrow Weekend is the Scarecrow Contest from October 7-9. There are more than 80 handmade scarecrows on display throughout the city. Guests are invited to “hunt” for scarecrows and vote on their favorite designs. The four scarecrow categories are individual, business, clubs/not-for-profits/schools, and mechanical/mega.
