It’s been many years since the Harry Potter books and movies reached their conclusion, but the fan base remains avid.
Potter fans in the Chicago area will soon have a chance to experience some of their favorite aspects of the series with a special event in the heart of the city.
Tickets are on sale now for Harry Potter: Magic at Play. It opens November 11 at Water Tower Place for a 6-month run.
Fans will be able to wander the three-story, 30,000-square-foot display filled with games, interactive activities, and items from the series to re-create the magic of Harry Potter’s world.
Visitors can learn about their Hogwarts house, experience the Forbidden Forest, work on their Quidditch skills, and so much more.
“We created this experience with fans and their families in mind, laying the path for a new generation of Wizarding World fans while delivering something that all fans will enjoy,” said Peter van Roden, a senior vice president at Warner Bros., according to License Global. “Superfly X are the ideal partners to help us deliver this best-in-class family-friendly experience.”
Superfly X is the company that helped created the experience.
“The Wizarding World is so unique and creatively rich, and we’re thrilled for the unprecedented opportunity to design this celebratory experience that will be truly made for all fans,” said Stacy Moscatelli, chief strategy officer for Superfly X.
Tickets begin at $37.50 for ages 10 and older, and $29.50 for those ages 3–9. Prices will fluctuate depending upon dates and times.
Chicago is the first stop for the touring exhibit.
“Whether you’re a lifelong fan or a wide-eyed first-year, you’ll be introduced to the magic in all-new ways through hands-on games, activities, and surprises that will bring out the young witch or wizard in all of us,” claims the promotional materials.
The event will be open Thursday–Monday, starting at either 10 a.m. or noon, and closing at 8 p.m. or 10 p.m., depending on the day. Select Tuesdays and Wednesdays will also be available, and days and hours will fluctuate around the holidays.
Tickets for the event are specific to a date and time to avoid overcrowding of the displays. Some tickets may be available at the door if there is capacity at any given time. Organizers highly recommend buying tickets online in advance to guarantee entry.
