A new airline is taking to the skies. Canadian-based Jetlines will start with a few select locations in hopes of expanding in the future.
New Airline
Transport Canada — the government organization overseeing Canadian travel — just approved Jetlines’ request to fly. Jetlines is a start-up airline based in Toronto and will start offering flights from Toronto’s Pearson Airport to three destinations: Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Moncton, New Brunswick.
“We thank Transport Canada and greatly appreciate the tireless effort and diligence they undertake to approve new airlines,” said Eddy Doyle, CEO of Canada Jetlines. “We excitedly look forward to our launch date, meeting the increased demand for convenient leisure travel in Canada and beyond and to provide more options to explore the world.”
The airline will initially operate with one airplane, an Airbus A320, which can hold 174 passengers in a single cabin. The airline hopes to expand to 15 planes by 2025. Flights will begin in the fall, but the company has not yet announced a specific starting date.

While the initial flights will be in Canada, Jetlines hopes to expand to the United States, Cuba, St. Lucia, and other popular Caribbean destinations. The airline is also working with various cities to provide vacation packages through its website. The CEO of Jetlines is a former officer in the Canadian Air Force and the entire management team is Canadian.

Jetlines’ mission is rooted in making air travel easy and convenient for all of its passengers.
