
A small town in North Texas is preparing for one of the country’s grandest Independence Day fireworks extravaganzas and air shows, Addison Kaboom Town! It’s coming July 3 in the tiny 4.4-square-mile town of Addison, home to 16,000 residents.

The 25-minute-long fireworks show is tops in the nation and is radio simulcast on Star 102.1 FM. Before the Kaboom fireworks show, enjoy high-energy music at Addison Circle Park from the Razzmajazz Dixieland Jazz Band, the Walton Stout Band, and the Jordan Kahn Orchestra, who will perform after the fireworks.
The event runs from 5 to 11 p.m. on Sunday, July 3, 2022, with gates opening at Addison Circle Park at 5. Bands play from 5 to 7; then, at 7:30, the airshow begins with many vintage airplanes, specialty aircraft, parachute jumpers, and dynamic aerial aerobatic displays. Planes take off from the Addison Airport, with flight paths visible throughout the city.
Pro Tip: The best viewing will be from restaurants and hotel watch parties along Belt Line Road and the Dallas North Tollway.
The patriotic presentation of the colors and National Anthem happens at 8 p.m. Jordan Kahn Orchestra performs at 8:30, and the fireworks show starts at 9:30 with the orchestra playing for the last hour until 11.
New this year at Addison Circle Park is the Caliber Auto Care Splash Zone, where you can cool off and splash around among various inflatable waterslides, an obstacle course, and a giant zip line. You can purchase an unlimited-ride wristband onsite to play in the water from 5 to 9 p.m.
