Greece is fully open for tourism. The country is dropping all travel restrictions and requirements starting next month.
Restrictions Lifted
The new rules go into effect on May 2, 2022. Travelers will no longer have to present a vaccination card or negative COVID-19 test to gain entry. This new protocol applies to all international visitors, no matter which country they are coming from originally.
Greece is the latest European country to ease COVID-related travel restrictions. Just last week, Switzerland also announced it would lift all its travel requirements. That decision goes into effect on May 2, 2022, as well. The United Kingdom, Ireland, and Iceland are also fully open to all travelers.
Currently, masks are still required indoors in Greece, however, the country’s top health officials are looking to end that in June. Officials say they will re-evaluate everything in September and reinstate any restrictions, if necessary.
