Don’t put away your skis just yet! Vail Resorts is extending the season for seven of its resorts across the country.
Extended Season
Thanks to good snow, Vail Resorts is keeping some of its ski resorts open past their initial closing dates. You’ll even be able to ski into May at three of the resorts! Vail Mountain in Colorado, Kirkwood in Lake Tahoe, and Stevens Pass in Washington state will all stay open until May 1, 2022. That’s an extra week for Vail, an extra 2 weeks for Sevens Pass, and a whopping 3 weeks for Kirkwood.
Four other resorts are tacking on extra days to the typical end of the season. Heavenly Resort at Lake Tahoe and Mount Snow in Vermont will both add an extra week, now closing on April 24, 2022. Hunter Mountain in New York and Boston Mills in Ohio will also add an extra week, closing on April 10 and March 20, respectively.
Vail Resorts says the extensions are subject to continuing good skiing weather, and warns some terrain may be closed during the latter part of the extended season, pending snow conditions.
