One of the surprise holiday events of last Christmas is back for an encore.
Believe in Christmas Encore, featuring famed Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, will be streamed again this holiday season. Filmed in the midst of the pandemic last year when Bocelli could not perform his traditional live holiday shows, it became one of the most successful classical events in history.
The show will give viewers a second chance to catch the star of the show, and we’re not talking about the famous member of the Three Tenors. We’re talking about his daughter, 9-year-old Virginia Bocelli, who stole the show when she shared the stage for a song with her dad.
“It was a tender debut for my daughter, Virginia, and a show in which we symbolically took the hand of the world to finally turn the page, bolstered by the magic of the spirit of Christmas, thanks to music that rose to prayer, dispensing smiles and positive energy,” Bocelli said of the moment.
Believe in Christmas Encore can be streamed for $20 in the United States, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Andrea Bocelli Foundation.
“It was a moment of pure enchantment, for me and my family: a Christmas wonderland blooming and enshrined within one of the most beautiful opera houses in the world,” said Bocelli, who filmed at Italy‘s famous Teatro Regio di Parma Opera House, built in 1829.
Fans can stream the show on Friday, December 10, at 8 p.m. or 11 p.m. ET. Replays will also be available on the 11th and 12th. Fans can also tune in a half-hour early for a special behind-the-scenes documentary about the making of the event with interviews with Bocelli and members of the cast and crew.
“December and the loveliest time of the year are back, and I am particularly happy that Believe In Christmas is being streamed again,” Bocelli said. “It will be nice to hold hands again and — with music — exchange a wish that can go beyond words and reach the hearts of each of you, as is my hope.”
The show comes as Bocelli begins his North American tour, playing shows throughout December and February. The run began Thursday in Cleveland and crisscrosses the country before wrapping up February 19 in Phoenix. Tour dates and ticket information are available at Bocelli’s website.
