Travelers thinking of a river cruise in the near future have a brief window to book a vacation at a hugely discounted price.
American Queen Steamboat Company is holding a Black Friday sale offering up to 45 percent off on upcoming cruises. The limited-time offer will remain available until December 3.
The deal is available on select cruises and excludes group bookings. It also requires full payment at the time of the booking.
The deal applies to four of the company’s boats.
American Countess
This paddlewheeler has 123 staterooms and can hold up to 245 passengers. It features four decks, including a Sun Deck, and sails primarily on the Mississippi River. Routes include New Orleans to Memphis; Louisville to Pittsburgh; St. Louis to Minneapolis; Memphis to Chattanooga; and a 9-day round trip starting and ending in New Orleans.
American Duchess
This riverboat features some of the largest accommodations on the rivers, with suites as large as 630 square feet available. There are even some two-story suites. Routes it travels include Nashville to Chattanooga; Memphis to Louisville; New Orleans to Memphis; Louisville to Pittsburgh; and a tour of the Kentucky bourbon region.
American Queen
The largest steamboat ever built features six decks. The centerpiece is the Grand Saloon, an entertainment venue modeled after Ford’s Theatre. It travels many of the same routes, but also has a 16-day cruise from Minneapolis to New Orleans.
American Empress
The largest overnight riverboat west of the Mississippi, the American Empress cruises the Columbia and Snake rivers in the Pacific Northwest. The four-deck boat sails from Portland to Spokane, and round-trip voyages from Portland or Vancouver, Washington.
“The mighty rivers of the United States of America once served as the great highways of early exploration and inspired dreams of discovery,” American Queen says on its website. “Today, American Queen Voyages re-creates the same sense of wonder, excitement and inspiration with all the convenience and comfort of modern luxury.”
