Disney has been slowly leaking details about the new Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel at Walt Disney World Resort. The final bit of information released this week is the one fans have been waiting to hear: the opening date.
Galactic Starcruiser will swing open its doors to visitors starting March 1, and reservations for the unique hotel can be made starting October 28. Disney Vacation Club members, Disney Passholders, and Disney Visa Cardmembers are being teased with a special booking opportunity (hint: before the general public).
“Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is a first-of-its-kind vacation experience that goes beyond anything Disney has created before,” the company promises in a statement.
It also goes beyond the price you would normally pay for a Disney vacation. The Galactic Starcruiser will offer guests a 2-night experience in which they will be immersed in the Star Wars story. Costs will vary depending upon the number of people in the cabin, the level of cabin chosen, and the days of the week and time of year when booked.
Prices begin at $4,809 for a party of two, $5,299 for three guests in a cabin, or $5,999 for four guests in a cabin. A standard cabin features a queen bed, two bunk beds, and a wall pull-down bed. A Galaxy Suite offers more room and can hold four guests, while a Grand Captain Suite will handle up to eight guests.
The price includes a 2-night stay, food and beverages (excluding alcohol and specialty drinks), admission to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and all of the immersive and interactive entertainment that takes place throughout the visit.
“Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is like nothing else you’ve ever experienced; part live immersive theater, part themed environment, part culinary extravaganza, part real-life role-playing game,” Disney says on its website. “While your story unfolds, you’ll have the power to choose your path. Will you follow the rule of the First Order, or join the Resistance in a secret plot? Strike a bargain with a gang of smugglers, or sit back, sip a cocktail and watch it all from a safe distance?”
For those intrigued by the idea, Disney has released a commercial showing off part of the journey.
