Sleeping under the stars with your family makes an awesome weekend getaway in itself. But when that camping trip is paid for and you can earn an additional $1,500 — even better!
Sleep Junkie, a website that offers sleep tips and mattress reviews, is hiring a family to go on an all-expenses-paid camping trip for 3 nights. The only catch is that the campers will need to participate in a sleep study, giving “feedback on how spending the night outdoors affected their sleep.”
Once the sleep study is complete, that family will be paid $1,500.
“The purpose of our study is to find out how outdoor sleeping can affect different people, both physically and mentally, as well as the quality of sleep that people are able to achieve while sleeping outside,” said Dorothy Chambers of Sleep Junkie said in a statement detailing the study and the website’s search for the ideal family.
Chambers continued, “Should you become our resident ‘outdoor sleeping testers’, you’ll be expected to record your experience of sleeping outside, focussing on how outdoor factors, such as temperature, sounds of the wild, and humidity levels affect your sleep.”
Who Is Eligible To Apply To Be ‘Outdoor Sleeping Testers’
Applicants can live anywhere in the world. However, the adults will need to be at least 21 years old, speak fluent English, and have access to camping equipment.
Sleep Junkie says they’re looking for a family of four to participate in the study, however, the application is open-ended in that it allows the primary applicant to explain who they’d take with them on the trip, their relationship to the applicant, and why they’d be a good fit for the study.
The application (scroll down here to access it) also requires a link to a 60-second introduction video.
The application is open through August 12, and Sleep Junkie says they’re hoping to choose a winner who can go camping and complete the study in September.
The winning family will be able to spend 3 nights at a camping site of their choice, with Sleep Junkie covering all expenses.
The terms and conditions note that the winner can remain anonymous or “go public” with their participation in the sleep study. It further says, “The winner will be required to complete certain tasks created by the Sleep Junkie team. If the winner does not follow through with the required tasks, they will not receive the prize.”
