One lucky person is going to win 365 nights of free accommodations from IHG Hotels & Resorts to any of its hotels around the world.
IHG, whose properties include such brands as InterContinental, Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, and Regent, will select a winner on August 2. Hopeful entrants have until July 20 to tell the company why they deserve the honor.
People can enter the contest through IHG’s Twitter or Instagram pages. They must tell IHG why they need an epic vacation without actually saying they need an epic vacation. Entries must tag IHG at @ihghotels and use the hashtag #IHGTellMeContest.
The contest is designed to help somebody gain back all of the lost travel time everyone has experienced over the past year. As part of the promotion, IHG has created a Department of Epic to help guests turn their travel dreams into reality.
“Our teams connect people through travel, and we’ve missed making that happen,” Chief Custom Officer Claire Bennett said in a statement. “With the launch of our Department of Epic, we’re helping kick start the memorable and epic experiences people have been waiting for — strengthening family bonds, celebrating milestone moments, uniting far-flung friends, forging business partnerships — across our hotels around the world.”
In addition to 365 nights of free stays at hotels, the winner will receive a long list of other perks, including a personal booking concierge who will help them select all of the destinations and hotels for the year.
The winner will also get a complimentary basket of their favorite snacks each time they check into a new hotel, a private car at some locations to take them around during their stay, and a free meal once a month at one of IHG’s restaurants.
The winner will also get to keep one of the mattresses from their stays, and a collection of Kimpton robes. They will also be surprised at certain locations with Epic Extras, including upgrades to the penthouse, hotel slippers and more random rewards.
Finally, the winner will be enrolled in IHG’s rewards program and be elevated to Spire Elite, the program’s highest level.
“Whether it’s exploring the Grand Canyon, taking in the magic of Napa Valley with a hot- air balloon experience, or swimming with whale sharks in the Maldives, IHG has a hotel for wherever you want to go and for however you want to stay,” the company said.
IHG has 16 different hotel brands under its umbrella, with nearly 6,000 hotels in more than 100 countries.
