When it comes to out-of-the-box weddings, Las Vegas is the place to go. But how about an out-of-this-galaxy ceremony?
In honor of Star Wars Day on Tuesday — May 4 — the Little Vegas Chapel will be marking the day with ceremonies for the truest of fans. Wedding packages will be staged for couples no longer flying Solo with a “Yoda One For Me” ceremony.
Known as the location for quick, uncomplicated ceremonies and kitschy experiences, like Elvis impersonators officiating nuptials, The Little Vegas Chapel has a new setup for Tuesday.
Couples will have a choice of Star Wars-themed music for the entrance and recessional, and the officiant will incorporate movie lines into the ceremony. Til Death Star do us part, anyone?
Whether the couples play it straight or add their own touches — “I love you. I know.” Or “No matter how much we fought, I’ve always hated watching you leave.” — is up to them.
Couples will take part in a unity sand ceremony and be given the choice of Darksaber Black and Jedi Knight Yellow, or Sith Red and Skywalker Blue sand. Brides will carry a rose bouquet with subtle Star Wars-themed accents, and grooms will have Storm Trooper rose boutonnieres.
The chapel’s photographers will document the ceremony and provide an online gallery for couples to browse. Couples can select 15 full-resolution digital photos to keep.
Couples can also edit one of their chosen photos with a Star Wars theme, whether it’s getting married on the Death Star, having Grogu as your witness, or something else.
The packages, which start at $549, also include round-trip limousine service from any Strip or Downtown hotel, and the all-important, completely legal license from the Las Vegas Marriage License Bureau.
Because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the number of guests allowed in the chapel will be limited to 16 per ceremony, and they can all use their camera phones throughout the ceremony. If there are no guests, a witness can be provided, if needed.
According to a spokesperson for the chapel, there are 17 Star Wars spots on the chapel’s schedule for Tuesday, with 12 already booked as of Friday night. That leaves just a few spots open for anyone still tempted to give the Woo-keys to their heart to their partners.
